I wish they had given her more than an episode to play a character who was trying to take down Frank. She would have done much better with that.

But that's not my problem; it's that the show never finds another note to play for Frank other than utter awesomeness. Tony had self-pity. He had outbursts of terrifying violence. He had rage. He had his panic attacks. He had his childish love of babies and animals. He, like Walter, had so many different layers and…
Kate Mara is one of my favorite unsung actresses, but the first season pretty frequently asked her to play an impossible character. She did so with aplomb, but Zoe was not exactly the smartest.
The Christina thing was so bizarre. I spent a lot of the season thinking Frank was trying to enmesh the president in a sex scandal, and then she was just gone.
Starting Tuesday.
My wife watched most of this with me while doing 15 other things, skipped a few episodes in the middle, and just generally didn't pay attention until the very end, and she followed all of it perfectly.
If not that, then the conversation about how it's better to kill a pig all at once would have had giant neon lights pointing to it that said, "FRANK IS GOING TO KILL ZOE!"
I have my doubts, but it would be nice to be proved wrong!
No, because it keeps cutting between various camera setups. It's a long scene, but not a long take.

See, I felt that way about Breaking Bad. I knew Walter was going to win in every episode right up until the last half season, but the question was always what crazy scheme he would unleash to do so, and then how events would get in the way of that scheme and he would improvise around them. With Frank, I pretty much…
Thinking about doing this one for TV Club Classic when I wrap up Mad Men. Any interest in it? I haven't seen it since it aired and remember basically nothing about it beyond liking it.
We celebrate three-quarters of the presidents. We leave it up to you to determine which 11 we're not so fond of.
We're doing it in a few weeks for One Season Wonders, so it got cut.
Yeah. It's a good show.
It was on our last list like this.
Is that even available anywhere? Regardless, I don't think it's good enough to make a list like this.
I have occasionally counted Sunrise as a BP winner, but I no longer do. It just feels weird to argue there were *two* winners that year, and Wings has the better argument for being the first Best Picture.
Basically, yes.
It pops on and off the major streaming services with some regularity.
