I don't think they are. This is almost certainly going to make money for them.

We have reached a point in time where you have to try very, very, very hard to run a cable network into the ground. It's still theoretically doable, but you basically have to be actively trying. It's made for one of the best periods ever for TV, but it also leads to a lot of weird crap.
HBO almost always sends us at least four. They sent us the complete run of Treme, and they sent us six for the first season of Game Of Thrones, too (and the last two had really incomplete effects work). Usually, when they send six or—dare we hope—a full season, they're pretty psyched about what they have. That doesn't…
I barely remember the Thanksgiving one! I think I found Troy funny in that episode and was grasping for straws.
I would gladly write a weekly baseball column, but it would just turn into frequent paeans to lost youth and examinations of, like, home run trajectories and random math shit.
The voice of the AVC has always, always been passionate with a side of irreverence, and the NFL column more than fits that criteria. I am sometimes a pain in the ass about certain features in staff meetings and stuff, but I've never objected to this one. It's great, and John's great.
It is fascinating to me to realize that there are those of you who think of Grantland as primarily a snark delivery system, because I tend to think of it as, like, the anti-Gawker, in that it prioritizes longer, more thoughtful pieces over quick hit jokes. I think the Internet economy is such that any successful site…
I forgot it was mysticreferee I was speaking to. My humble apologies to all, and my letter of resignation will be on my boss' desk by end of day.
Zodiac is one of my favorite movies. It does seem to be a touch underseen though.
I do love that movie. Back and forth forever.
There were detective movie/TV shows where it rains a lot with male/female partner teams long before The Killing.
To be fair, I liked the puppet episode a lot, and continue to be pilloried for it!
Well, Sing-Off IS produced by Sony TV as well, so… maybe?
That would be kind of cool.
Moore has, I believe, three shows coming to air this calendar year, two on SyFy and one on Starz. He's reached the stage of his career where he shepherds a bunch of projects simultaneously.
A FEW GENRES I THINK WOULD DO WELL IN TV ANTHOLOGY FORMAT:
The membership of the Television Critics Association is less than 200, and around 500,000 to 750,000 people watch Girls live every week (and none of them are us, because we get screeners). So no.
The new season of Girls is good, though!
Holden is first-billed, but Guinness is very much the protagonist of this story.
"Aren't reviews supposed to be unbiased?" No. They are reviews. They are inherently biased.
