I actually wanted all of these to have a "Best of TV 2013:" lead-in, because I was concerned about that, but we have very limited character counts for headlines, and people didn't want to eat into those, which is understandable.

Sorry, the way we voted previously. The way we did it this year was just a lot of yelling.

That's in the works! (But, yes, if we do this again, every article will come with some sort of link to every other article in the list.)

When we say something is our second-favorite, we secretly mean it sucks.

The articles are also regularly among the five most-read articles of the day, so I don't have any fears people are having trouble finding them.

Well, the way we vote basically suggests that if a show is on nearly everybody's ballot (as Girls would be, though low), it ends up rising, because there are so many of us.

There's a movie where the president is a duck?! I'd better ask Alex if I can review it in three parts…

Which we used as a filter to look at The Americans through, just like we used images for Hannibal and a single episode for Justified and a single three-minute scene for Good Wife. Every article has had a different approach.

I have long maintained that the top five would have been some combination of Girls, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Parks And Recreation, and Game Of Thrones, because those are the five shows everybody watches. We have such a large voting pool that those sorts of shows naturally float to the top. This new system isn't perfect

That has already been on the list!

I want to see you guys try to predict the OTHER 25. I will tell you this: There are NO groups of shows on that list.

We wrote about Game Of Thrones on Monday.

It actually says slightly more about our changed methodology.

Libby didn't like the first two Black Mirrors, LOVED the next two, and hasn't seen the last two (though I spoiled her on White Bear, because she wanted to know the twist without having to watch it, because I knew she wouldn't like it).

It came on at the same time as Arrested Development. Indeed, most of the reviews of it didn't really roll around until mid-summer.

The best of TV articles have been in the top six articles all day every day since they started running, and in one of the top two slots on the TV Club homepage all day every day. They have gone up at midnight Central every night, at which point they are immediately moved into those spots. They are hard to miss.

Since most of it will air in 2014, it will be a "2014 show" for our list-making purposes.

WHAT WILL BE NUMBER ONE?!?!?

Americans was in week one, though everybody seems to have missed it because it was in mixtape format, while Mad Men was last week.

Bob's Burgers, our third-best show of 2013, would like a word.
