If we're gonna talk Office moments, it's not when they get together at the party, it's the scene in the conference room where he takes off his mic. That's one of the most heart-wrenching scenes I've every seen on television.

Come on guys, December 1963 and Escape are two of my favorite guilty pleasures. I genuinely love both of those songs!
Does the video quality on Hulu suck for everyone, or is it something with my system? I've got a pretty fast connection, a fairly new laptop, but watching it any larger than the little window in the browser makes it horribly jerky and out of sync with the sound.
Minority Report, aside from being beautifully and creatively shot, is perhaps the worst Spielberg movie I've ever seen. It has almost a dozen gaping plotholes, themes that go nowhere. And a couple of the action scenes are frankly boring. I found it a failure on almost every level.
It's not that I think Mononoke is a bad film, but I don't like it nearly as much as I like Spirited Away, Kiki, or Totoro. I think part of it is the voice acting. While all good actors, I find the famous voices a little too distracting.
I'm not sure how much of an endorsement this is, but DaOitMK is easily the best novel of Doctorow's I've read.
Geek Love is a novel I only picked up because it was on a friend's bookshelf, a book that I couldn't put down, a book that has never really left my mind, and a book I have never recommended to anyone. That says nothing about the quality of the book.
2 things, Keith:
Ok, I know they're made in the US, and they pay decent wages, so its okay to support them, but we don't need to *like* AA clothes. The owner is a huge scumbag. He's just this side of the ass who runs Girls Gone Wild.
I'm sorry, Antz reallyreallyreally pissed me off. From the irritating voice casting to the horrible premise that they could (should) be individuals [its not in their genes! most of them are haploids!] It had some nice visuals. It had some awesome music. But overall, Antz was a movie I never mentioned again, unless I…
JVS- you nailed Lemmon: weary, confused, put-upon. Even in comedies. Lemmon is a brilliant actor. I also agree with Perry's 'condescendingly befuddled' act. He came to fame in an era of ironic detachment, and I'm not sure that he can ever take his persona into more intimate roles.
Holmes: was your latest book a joke? I keep hoping it was all some form of performance art, and not the ravings of a talented writer that somehow decided that things were all happy and filled with ponies.
The end of X1 had an amazing setup, in my opinion, for a sequel with Wolverine heading off to discover his origins. I was waiting for that. The previews for this film, however, leave me entirely cold.
As pointed out above, Canadian Whisky and Bourbon are two different products, and can't really be compared head to head. But to make it worse, y'all are trying to compare CC to Booker's? wtf? Booker's is amazing, but it's also $40-50/bottle. They are in the same class!
Dan, I'm also a long-time admirer of the comic, although until recentl I hadn't read it in a while. In order to give the movie the best chance it had, I intentionally didn't reread the comic right before the movie so I wouldn't be nitpicking. Overall, I did enjoy the film, but to me it comes across just as you…
Speaking of July- Five Days in July is a great song.
Riff- I, too, have seen a relationship come to an end like that. I spent years with someone, much of it wonderful, but as time went on it became increasingly clear to both of us that we weren't good for each other in the long haul. And so eventually we had to face the fact that no matter how much we loved each other,…
That last bit does not in any way surprise me, mbs.
This is the blood of our lord jesus christ. It's also a damn fine beaujolais!
If I don't like Norm Macdonald in general, but foud the clip of him at Saget's roast funny, should I bother watching this movie?
