No, I didn't study communications (art history and photography for the record, so I've done my time in the semiotics and advertising mines), from the perspective of what sells in the real world I'm sure their comments are perfectly valid. It's an interesting thought exercise, but to do such a straight-faced article

A lot of the criticisms of the fictional pitches seem like they're really unfamiliar with the actual show being discussed — complaining about lack of explanatory copy, or using the word "hate" for example. So much of the conflict and drama in the scenes with clients is about how these are supposed to feel like

The snuffling thing is something I've seen my Finn-aged brother do when he's jokingly pretending to be upset… it kind of weirded me out because it was such a specific observation on the writers' part, totally nailed that slightly awkward nerdy kid humor.

I must have missed that— was that addressed on the show or was it a behind the scenes thing? Wondering why they kept him on so long without much to do. Allen is also a bit of a dead weight story-wise but at least that's his role, although strangely he's never shown as being that close with Chase. (The sweet thing

One thing that kind of stood out to me this time was how was Jake supposed know whose paintings to complete? He mentioned he started them after the spirit animal session, but ended up with ones for only the remaining contestants. I guess he could have painted one for everyone, but I thought that might ring some

My exact thought, something about the whole meeting at the cafe seemed too perfect, and then that line at the party set alarm bells off for me. I'm not sure if Hannah getting ripped off by a vanity publishing thing would be that interesting as a plot point but I guess we'll see.

If anything I was a little disappointed by that— at times they seemed to give a lot of time to certain theories simply because they were kind of nuts. They're definitely fun to watch, but it would have been nice to have more in-depth commentary by experts about legitimate analysis in this same format (ie. with

Actually there's a bit of screen time given to fan theories based around changes Kubrick made to the book. They're actually some of the more interesting ideas, because (whether right or wrong) they stem from clear authorial intent rather than continuity errors and coincidences.

I probably shouldn't have used it as an

Completely agree about FX and women— The League for example is pretty much unwatchable for me for similar reasons, even though I really like a lot of the people involved with that show.

Definitely some Godard intertitles thrown in as well.

Since it's Glee I'm predicting it's a false-positive that doesn't get confirmed as such until the end of an episode full of everyone freaking out. If not that then a miscarriage that will aim towards being very dark and sad, but will mainly just upset everyone with how terribly it gets handled and swept under the rug

I feel so conflicted about this show because I genuinely like it most of the time, but I'm finding the depiction of women just fucking awful, especially considering how strangely warm-hearted it's becoming towards the male leads. I get that the show is supposed to be cynical and a little mean but I honestly can't

I actually think it could have been an interesting plot device if they had just made up a Poe-esque fictional author whose works could be made to fit with the narrative. It would avoid so much unintentional hilarity (although I'm mainly watching for that) and like you said avoid the ridiculous conceit that anyone

One of my favourite parts of season 1 was Kristen Wiig covering up other people's mistakes, she was so fast on her feet and calm (and hilarious)

Are you a gimmick account or what?

I agree, in a way I'm glad it was him because of that— he's the only character where you could see some history or build up to it with his "literary" career for the past two (?) seasons. It does create a lot of strange plot holes, but I can't think of a character for whom that wouldn't be the case.
