Although they haven't been here 200 (closer to 240 in the show, I think) years, around here a LOT of the same families are still living here, who settled here in the 1870s. I mean, a lot. Like at least 50% if not closer to 75%.

Wellllllll, it seems a little "indecorous" for an 18th century gentleman to concern himself with les affairs de couer of a woman he barely knows. However, I will allow it, since the writers are just setting them up to be will-they-or-won't-they lovers.

This is what I've seen when I happened to see the show. It really bothers me that the show only engenders disgust, though. Most of these people suffer from a variety of obsessive-compulsive disorders and depression. I think this show did more to ostracize them than ever, rather than raising awareness for the problem.
