@avclub-9ff7c9eb9d37f434db778f59178012da:disqus thanks for not taking offense at my "gently slap some sense into that boy" stance.

Heh, @avclub-c701a997d9bef627835b036efb4eca63:disqus that was the first thing I thought, too. Best to spell out the entire phrase.

@persia2:disqus Just answering you here so you get the notice.

@avclub-21c77dc0e55479c9c3d73a053964aa73:disqus welcome to commenting! I'm not usually anywhere near this wordy in the comments, I leave it to the pop-culture experts here for the most part and appreciate the different ways everyone has of looking at something.

@avclub-9ff7c9eb9d37f434db778f59178012da:disqus . Baby. Sweetheart. I feel compelled to respond to your post although I don't really know what I'm going to say, and I'm about 90% sure you don't wanna hear it.

20 years of inertia, @avclub-63c17d596f401acb520efe4a2a7a01ee:disqus ? Well I suppose it couldn't be 20 full years, but still, a lot of years of inertia, sounds like.

@olivececile:disqus thanks for the insight, it's funny that you went to <ahem> Cas & Dean because they were the subject of the fandomwank I was reading! Apparently one of the actors has alienated some of his fans by not being more queer-friendly in the context of the show. ANY-hoo, I also wasn't aware there was much

@Scrawler2:disqus see, I didn't really see why traditional gender roles/expectations would be an impediment to the writer, along the lines of "But why not just create a female character without those drawbacks?"
But during the discussion here, I realized that an important component I was forgetting is that a lot of

Heeeyyyyyyy, maybe my half-assed psuedo-theory holds water after all!

@avclub-884c4beddd8c98bb3b016bdfcc1bcdf8:disqus that doesn't surprise me, really. People have different perspectives on porn, and what they want from its use.

@avclub-9ff7c9eb9d37f434db778f59178012da:disqus & @avclub-c701a997d9bef627835b036efb4eca63:disqus from reading some of each of your posts it seems to me that the two of you could manage to be polite and civil to each other for a couple of hours in person.

@Scrawler2:disqus Thanks for taking the time to respond, my apologies for semi-stalking you elsewhere in this section, this was just something I was thinking about only yesterday so it was fresh in my mind. The whole Omegaverse thing - yeah, not suitable for work if your place of employment tracks your internet usage.

Hey, @Scrawler2:disqus , I had a question for you up above but was unable to reply directly to you - and the question isn't appropriate for this comment thread. It's nested up above under the 2nd main comment. I just wanted to let you know it was there in case you didn't see it AND on the off-chance you feel like

@Scrawer:disqus I hope you see this, because you mention (sort-of) slashfic, a phenomenon that I find both fascinating and incomprehensible, and I've been trying to learn more about it.

@persia2:disqus just throwing this tangentially-related post out there, but I used to have a jokey theory that Everyone Loves Boobs - Men, Women, and Kids.

Just seconding the introvert advice. I am one as well and many people confuse being introverted with being shy and/or socially awkward. I am neither, it simply takes a lot out of me to interact with a lot of people regularly (no matter how pleasurable the interaction is), and I have to have a certain amount of alone

While my comment above yours deals with the particulars of my own fantasy, which started well before the advent of ubiquitous porn, there is another element in girl-girl "lesbian" porn that I find is irreplaceable: the time spent on foreplay.

@avclub-6beb5f589a9fd04c21fcd50db3d9c80c:disqus I actually have similar fantasies, re: girl-girl specifically, but no interest in pursuing it in so-called "real life".

@olivececile:disqus I would even go so far as to say, some things are much, much better as fantasy than they would ever be in reality. There are many things that I that I find incredibly arousing in fantasy, but which I have absolutely zero interest in realizing in real life.

Oh, I don't have any ambivalence at all for my real-life younger brother, we haven't spoken in 15 years. So, yes, he's a dud. Chris Hardwick would be 5 steps up in the sibling department.
