Yeah, that can be really frustrating. Hunters are all over the place no matter the rank, largely because the decks are powerful and cheap to build.

I'm always curious which deck type people are talking about when they say that only one works.

Is the lack of photos down to the fact that no matter how famous a writer you are, that there's only so large a population of folks that care? I love Pynchon (obviously) but I'm not going to go around stalking the guy and don't begrudge him his privacy.

I loved all the little details in Bleeding Edge. There's a section where he writes about characters in Dragonball Z of all things, and demonstrates that he both knows who they are and what the basic structure of the story was. Was shocked and impressed all at once.

And should do so! Not sure what the overlap is here between podcast listeners and gamers, but Sark the GM for Nerd Poker is great about explaining how and why he fudges rules to tell a better, more fun story. Getting too caught up in the rules spoils a lot of the fun.

This is what I really love about pen and paper RPGs, and I wish I had a group that I was currently playing with.

Anyone else listening to Nerd Poker? I've been enjoying the recent run of episodes, especially Brian Posehn's new character.

My favorite story about the new Kinect was that it would shut Netflix off if there were too many people in the room. Crossing a certain threshold means that you're showing the video to a group and that, supposedly, violates one of the terms of service. Not sure if that actually made it into the system, but deep down

I sympathy cringed as well, but Mirman was so nice to her and so encouraging that it really did instill hope for humanity. I've enjoyed his work before, but after this I developed a lot of respect for him as a genuinely kind person.

Is Gambit the worst X-man? I can't think of anyone else that I actively hate quite as much.

Preacher is one of those books that I personally didn't like, but I get why others do. I read the first couple trades and didn't feel the need to read the rest.

Probably because he makes the studios boatloads of money.  But that's just a guess.

Realize that something similar gets posted pretty much every week, but I think it's a nice discussion to have.  I'm starting to pick up some of the older Batman trades now that Inc has disappeared and I am looking for something to get my Batman fix (and I'm not a fan of Snyder's run).  Just finished the big Birth of

Agreed on Hawkeye, and the Allred FF is worth it just for the art.  Always love it when he does superhero comics.

Other Flophouse fans: how amazing was the song that ended the podcast this week?  Listened this morning and it was a great way to start the day.

@avclub-b0dae075785888267fc19871f3e7dab7:disqus I'd also recommend Umbrella Academy.  Not as good as Casanova (which is my favorite comic currently being produced), but still enjoyable.  And that's not something that I ever expected to say about something Gerard Way wrote.  They've also done some work on the BPRD

@avclub-b0dae075785888267fc19871f3e7dab7:disqus I'd add Gabriel Ba and Fabio Moon to that list too.  Personally, I love that all of these European and South American artists are getting high profile gigs, and bringing a much different sensibility with them.  Frankly, I'll take Martin, Ba, Moon or Rios over just about

Both the recipe and the reviews are amazing.  Plus, the picture is of a giant heap of mashed potatoes with a few peas on top.  Perfect.

My guess is that that is the point where the quality of the show jumps past the written material.  Martin's editor can't say no anymore, but the showrunners can jettison a lot of the junk from the books.

I'm not sure about the legality of listening to leaked tracks on youtube, but at least "Blood on the Leaves" is up there.
