Yeah that RDJ performance is one of very few good fake Aussie accents. It's on TV rather than film but have you heard Trevor Noah's Australian accent? It is pretty good. He has an awesome Nigerian accent too.

I think it's tougher for a really famous actress like Meryl Streep because you know what she usually sounds like, and even if her accent is perfect it is going to sound incongruous coming out of her mouth.
