god I loved that book- wasn't there a sequel? I seem to remember some kind of story line where the ghost saved a life by stopping an air bubble in an artery…or something. Its been a while.

You may have a point, I recently read Russo's Bridge of Sighs, and it was essentially the same book as Empire Falls. The Corrections is a far more singular and interesting (and entertaining) book, but it is more difficult I suppose, and certainly more downbeat

couldn't agree with you more, Russo is fine, but felt it was an almost Oscar-esque decision and they went for the safe feel good bet. They are too young but excellent actors both, so fingers crossed.
