What a confusing FJ. I spent most of the allotted time trying to figure out if they wanted the country or the modern name of Caranjee.

For what it's worth, this was the first episode I've ever seen and I just assumed it was narrated by her dad, right up until reading your comment.

God, his statement is just heartbreaking. Excerpt:

It's remarkable that they were able to keep the news to themselves for two months.

Dude went back to work just two weeks later. I literally got tears in my eyes reading that, imagining everything that probably went into the decision: grief, denial, work ethic, a desperate need for normality, a desire to not let everyone down, etc. Just gutting.

I really like Overcast a lot. It has a free option with full usability. You can go Premium if you like the app and want to support it.

I *hate* the little "Coming Up" flash forward they do during the penultimate commercial break. Not only are they usually a little spoilery, but since I'm usually looking at my phone during the commercials they make me panic that I zoned out and missed something.

As My My My points out below, Bill's relationship with her foster mom–particularly her reluctance to come out–is really oddly sketched and pretty non-Bill.

I really liked that they committed suicide for a reason beyond just finding out they were living in a simulation: they did it to deprive the invaders of any additional data about how to conquer the real Earth.

Sigh, I really thought that Moffat had outgrown his "Is The Doctor History's Greatest Monster?" fixation. It's such an oddly juvenile take on the character, which is really surprising considering how thoughtful Moffat usually is when it comes to the show's lore.

But this is a little different in that Bill wasn't placed with her; she was a friend of her mother's.

Like a lot of young people, Bill just still lives at home, that's all. She works in a cafeteria, so she probably doesn't have the funds to live on her own. Also the one time she tried to move into a new place it tried to eat her, so.

Arguably "Heaven Sent." Thrice-ish!

So a physicist has just 15 seconds to live and chooses to spend it on an inscrutable yet condescending object lesson for non-academics?

Oh my god, same here. I'm struggling to think of a recent comedy that made me laugh out loud with such delight, much less an hour-long ostensible drama.

ME: "Oh, interesting…the show is going all-in on using the Vatican. That's a pretty risky move. They'll need to tread carefully to avoid offend-"

WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE HEADER PHOTO???

Keep in mind I based that entirely on how often I see her name come up in nerdy fan-castings on Tumblr…

I'm kinda surprised that Yara Shahidi is interested in doing this. She seems like she's poised to be a big breakout star, and her character "going away to college" seems like a good opportunity for her to leave Blackish with no hard feelings.

Shoutout to everyone trying to make a "Yale-p" pun work right now.
