Idea for an awards-bait Benny Hill biopic:

Maybe season two should just be a sketch show featuring individual scenes starring the hashtag's best suggestions…

Laura Dern and Rene Russo would rock so much more than a couple of 26-year-olds we're expected to believe made detective three years ago.

HER is basically TAYNE: THE MOTION PICTURE

The faith-based encyclopedia has everything you wanted to know about the Duck clan's popularity in that part of Europe:

A fantastic question—I don't mean that sarcastically—and one that I'll surely be revisiting on my deathbed. "My time on this planet was so short, why did I spend all those hours reading the comments on reviews of shows I never watched? Why did I stay on top of the comics industry when I stopped reading comics before I

Weird that, despite having read all the coverage here and even a couple TV Club reviews, I'm only just now realizing this isn't a sketch comedy show. That makes me a lot more excited to check it out, maybe I'll catch up tonight.

For years I didn't realize that Network was a different movie from Broadcast News…

Ha, totally. Do a Google Image Search on "Evelyn Smythe"…apparently in the comics she's drawn as an 80-year-old.

Yeah, I was sputtering like Daffy Duck when I clicked the link: "It's on HBO! It stars two of the most bankable celebrities in Hollywood! Everyone with a modem has written a positive review of the show! How the hell could this be considered a long…oh. I see. Never mind!"

On the recommendation of basically all of fandom, I listed to Jubilee, the basis for NuWho's "Dalek." I really enjoyed it, of course, though I felt the middle hour or so was a little padded. Also, um, I wasn't entirely sure what was happening in the end. But again, that didn't stop me from really enjoying it!

Nice to see The Gorch keeping busy…

Maybe because springtime is when everyone's allergies are acting up? That's all I can figure.

"Some lady from Downton Abbey" is not only true in this case but is also the answer to every "who the hell is that and why are they starring in a movie" question these days. Well, for me at least…

Me for the next six weeks: "I know, it looks awful, but…[Winter's Tale / Endless Love] is a fantastic novel and I highly recommend it in spite of how terrible the movie is."

Thanks! And oh man, looking at the cover of Americana brings back such vivid memories of used-CD store bin diving…

"Anitina" was one of my favorite songs as a teenager, and it definitely paved the way for a shoegazer-obsessed college career.

Oh, and then the next season every country would get a new partner. I'm sure they could handwave explanations about why both teams have to work together so it wouldn't have to be a murder on a bridge every time.

It would be neat if all these versions of the show were actually two interconnected-but-separate shows broadcast in their respective countries. So to use The Tunnel as an example, it would be two shows: a British show about a team of UK detectives working their side of the case as well as other ongoing stories

On a couple people's recommendation I listened to Chimes Of Midnight this week and I really enjoyed it. (Also, it was the perfect listening environment: under the covers on the middle of the afternoon on a day home from work due to snow, playing the excellent Room Two as I listened.)
