I think that episode of Gargoyles is an exception, not the rule. I've been watching it in reruns on Disney for the past couple weeks, and one of the things that strikes me in practically every episode is how ridiculous the show is about guns. Even regular muggers on the street have shotguns that shoot laser beams.

Every week I'm amazed at how I always feel differently about an episode then the reviewer. If an episode is in the best list, I always think "Really? Because I just thought it was ok." And if an episode is in the rest I think "Come on! That episode was amazing!" It happens every week. Its kind of weird.

Its hard enough to keep up with two shows a week. Moving up to three a week was what finally made me drop the Nerdist. I'm grateful for all the free content, but there's definitely a point where a show can get into too much of a good thing territory.

The "disingenuous"=lying makes me stupider question was hilarious. I feel really bad for Stepdad Ron.

I think this most recent episode is a pretty good one to get into the show with. They do a good job of skewering the movie, but within all the jokes is some actual critiquing, and the "Elliot as a pushy salesman" bit is a pretty good digression. Not their best episode, but also not a bad place to start if you aren't

In hindsight its pretty obvious the writers were up to something, but offhand, isolated lines of dialogue that never get followed up (or at least don't get followed up on camera, I'm sure we could fanwank some kind of "Starfleet really was

They've done a good job of showing how the station would become a center for commerce, and how everyone would be lining up to go exploring the other side of the wormhole. But you would definitely think the military presence around the station would be beefed up in a hurry, at least until Starfleet got a feel for what
