I'm generally not much of a fan of B5, but I will give them props for ship design. The Defiant is a cool looking ship, but I think the White Star is cooler. And while I think the Starfury is really pretty ugly (its basically just the stubby back half of an X-Wing), its still better looking than the runabout.

One of the worst named ships ever, but yeah, the zero-g physics thing makes up for some of it.

I guess I can see disliking Wesley. I certainly found him unbearable initially, but as Angel goes on that character just got better and better. It can be tough to get past a first impression of a character sometimes, though.

I only made it through about half of Captains before turning it off in annoyance. Shatner turning everything around back on himself was obnoxious, and the discussion about Mulgrew taking care of her kids while acting full time just made my head hurt. Stewart was pretty interesting, and Bakula came across as a pretty

I was actually going to ask if there was a connection between the two. I haven't watched DS9 since it was first broadcast and couldn't remember anything about the Jem'Hadar's appearance beyond "vaguely reptile or something."

I'd seen a few commenters here make less than flattering remarks about Babel, so I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed myself when it came time to watch it. It wasn't amazing, and in concept it was pretty formulaic "Trek meets weird virus" stuff, but I feel like formula can be ok sometimes if its done well.

I really liked the Carl Sagan episode, but my favorite was probably the Dickens/O. Henry one. That's a really fun podcast, and I'm surprised its never mentioned here, given how much everyone around these parts likes PFT.

The guacamole episode was pretty great too. Honestly I feel like you could almost pick episodes at random and get a pretty good feel for the show. Some episodes have been better than others, but there's always enough good bits to make it worth a listen.

As funny as that Full House question was, the one about Pokemon fetishes was even better. This week's episode was one of the best they'd done in a while.

Well played, Plumberduck. Well played.

I recently watched Babylon 5's first four seasons and a small chunk of season 5. While the quality does improve around the halfway point, that's still not saying much. The dialogue is cringe inducing, especially when it tries to be humorous or even worse, profound. There's a monologue one of the characters makes about

I can buy the Bajorans not looking too hard for the Temple for religious reasons. But the Cardassians were looking for these orbs as well, and had been for decades. It never occurred to them to go looking around the area of space where these things kept showing up?

That scene on the beach was excruciating. When they were walking together and he kept up jumping into Jennifer's face just had me wondering why she didn't slap this weird creepy stalker and start yelling for the cops.

Hey guys, I think that was the Odyssey.

They worked Tuvok in somehow too, didn't they? Or the same actor, at least?

I haven't seen any episode of DS9 since it first aired, so my memory is fuzzy on a lot of it, but I remember the prophets being really trippy and weird and mind blowing. That is not how I would describe them in this episode. They were mostly infuriating, though they verged on hilarity in a couple of places. "What is

Yeah, I don't think you can talk about female characters from last season without mentioning Loretta. She definitely delivered the goods.

Jim Earl and Eddie Pepitone are where I always turn the live ones off. I usually enjoy all the guests, but for me the shows always hit a wall afterwards.

i didn't finish it either. I found the shtick really boring to begin with. Combined with the fact that I don't really listen to Maron because I want to hear shtick it just made the whole thing excruciatingly dull. I was really surprised to see the write up above had anything good to say about it.

Will someone help me get this cloud out from between my knees?
