Well yeah, pretty much. I'm willing to suppose that the Flynn Effect shows something slightly more general (the ability to solve puzzles, perhaps) but it's still not necessarily a particularly deep and meaningful phenomenon.

The thing is, there's a fairly well observed phenomenon where people have actually gotten better at IQ tests over the years since it's been invented. IQ tests aren't the whole story, but neither is some guy saying "Well I dunno, I guess it makes sense if people were getting dumber."

That is one of the reasons why I've kind of avoided seeing this movie. Even when people don't get all "eugenicky" about it, at the very least it seems feed into people's natural tendencies to be elitist assholes in a somewhat excessive manner.
