"It was suicide" is my new favorite JFK conspiracy theory.

mmrm.. a little something for daddy…

The A.V. Club

Dawn of the Dickies is one of the all time best road trip albums ever made. And one of my greatest joys in life has been introducing my 2-year old daughter to the album, and her loving it so much that she harmonizes the "I don't know"s during 'Where'd His Eye Go'.

Yeah, I'm relatively sure that if you ever see a band, and after the show head to their merch table and they tell you "well, see, we don't really believe in having a Facebook page cause we don't like the idea of being incorporated, you know…" THAT band is way more hipster than anything listed here.

I think the "Don't Flush Your Tampons" debate is conclusively settled now that The Period Monster has weighed in.

Maybe you meant that Amazon's stranglehold will give them undue influence on what books succeed in the market. Because the staggering amount of hastily-written, self-published, amateur dinosaur/robot/incest fanfic available for sale on Amazon sort of undercuts your point on "literary homogenization."

Apologies that it looks like I was singling you out. I was simply attempting to address the entirety of replies to your initial comment, and this contemptible commenting system becomes a web of nested argument after the second generation of replies, which I was trying (unsuccessfully) to circumvent. To be clear:

Wow. Even if you believe she's reading too much into this specific instance of implicit institutional sexism, maybe, just maybe, the fact that this entire thread is composed of dudes sitting around saying "I wonder who that broad had to bang to get the job?" kind of reinforces her overall point. Look, I don't give a

Howard Kremer must've held on to that $20 until the last second.

"Genghis Khan, best remembered as inspiration for the tertiary Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles character 'Genghis Frog'…"

Did you happen to commercially release one of those mix tapes under the name "Music From the Motion Picture - Judgment Night"?

I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but I'm not sure watching Magnolia is going to do anything to help alleviate your general state of sadness.

No matter how hard I try, my Andrews Sisters records always slightly edge out my Angels of Light records..

Shoot the hostage.

Ironically, this seems to be the only criticism that I've seen leveled at The Act of Killing, that it's too aesthetic, and doesn't offer a point by point historical background of the killings being discussed. Like a Ken Burns voiceover narration and historical photographs would've really jazzed that movie up.

I can kind of understand why it wouldn't get a best picture nod, because its one of their more ambiguous, scattershot works, but the idea that Oscar Isaac didn't even get a best actor nomination is fucking mindboggling.

Yeah, this has been my preferred method since I started my record collection in the mid 90s. Although my stacks start with a section of various artist releases by title, then soundtracks by title, then artists. Unfortunately, the 6" by 8" shelving I used to store my records has been at capacity for a few years now,

We can downvote lame, repetitive jokes now?!?
