She's just been in a bunch of bad movies. The last thing she was in that wasn't terrible was Les Misérables in 2012, other than that it's just one mediocre or worse comedy or romcom after another. The same year she was apparently nominated for the "Actress Most in Need of a New Agent" award by the Alliance of Women

No, it did come up sometime in the first season that he worked a white collar job before fighting.

The fight's going to have to be postponed while Ryan's knee heals, so they'll get even more time to brood and be angry. By the time they actually get to the fight they'll probably be ready to actually kill each other.

Goddamn the fighting is terrible in this. You'd think that in the 4 years Gwendoline Christie has been on the show, she could have been taught enough fencing that every fight she's in doesn't look like it's her first time hitting something with a sword. The same goes for everyone else on the show as well, for that

Yeah, lying unmoving with her eyes open after a huge dose of heroin suggests pretty strongly that she's very much dead.

A slight correction. During the sauna cut scene Jay says "Pretty soon, I'm going to be feeding at that trough", not shitting. He was talking about fighting Ryan and taking his belt.

Directv renewed it for 2 season straight after the first season premiere, so there's still at least one to go. I agree that they really need to get the word out better about the show, it deserves more visibility.

It would also be shitty writing, as a) you're not going to get properly addicted from doing heroin one time and b) you're not going to go through withdrawal of the apocalyptic kind the same night you've shot up. Unless the show decides that he's going to go off the deep end over Laura, I doubt it will become a habit

Nice to see Kingdom being reviewed here. It doesn't seem to be getting much attention elsewhere.

"…my continuing argument throughout the season that Deutschland 83 is a lot messier than it’s given credit for by the uniformly drooling critics."

The Soviet liaison told Schweppenstette in an earlier episode to make sure the findings of the report on the NATO strategy paper correspond to the position of the Soviet Politburo. I assume he was currying political favor back home by producing intelligence that supports the leaders' preconceived positions. To do that

It almost certainly should have gone through the woman and hit Alexander as well. Those kinds of big revolvers are most often in either .357 or .44 magnum, at point blank range there's almost no chance they wouldn't penetrate straight through a person.

I also kept thinking about the shootout in Heat during this scene, although my focus was on the sound design. The assault rifles some of the gang guys use sound like they're being fired two streets over and I couldn't but think how much better that was done in Heat, where the massive noise that gunfire makes is an

Yeah, A Feast for Crows was pretty much where the wheels fell of the bus. It was a rambling shitshow and A Dance with Dragons wasn't really any better. Instead of having the interesting characters again get on with doing interesting things, GRRM made pretty much all of them uninteresting and take no action at all.

It's insane to think that Paige would suddenly become a supporter of communism and the Soviet Union. Her parents don't have that kind of influence on her anymore. Her church group has a much easier time of manipulating her thinking than her parents. If the church started talking about how actually, Jesus was a pretty

While the characters may mostly act consistently, the show does require that society at large and every organization that opposes Hood suffer from plot induced stupidity. For example the security detail at the base in this episode who take minutes to sweep a couple of rooms and then retreat in the face of a couple of

I rewatched the scene and it was just light shining from the room underneath through some perforated metal. There wasn't anything up there.

If Chayton wasn't necessary for the plot so that Hood has something to distract him from doing the military base job, Hood would have shot him in the head the moment he saw him holding Siobhan. He's done it in the same situation several times before, I seem to remember. But, because Chayton has plot protection for now

Personally I didn't care about the Red Bones acting stupid, but the ridiculous tactics of the defenders annoyed me more. Most irritating was them not picking up assault rifles left by the attackers, which would have been enough to arm everyone there. Also not taking cover when waiting for the shutters to get breached

That would have been fine if he'd just said "give me a minute to get away, then kill them." or words to that effect. Now they just stand there for no reason except to allow the heroes to escape. There isn't even any tension in the scene, it at no point feels like the mobsters are in control and about to kill them.
