This movie may be imperfect, but I love it the way I love the stories of Flannery O'Connor and Tobias Wolf.  It's ambiguous and it trusts the viewer to do a lot of the heavy lifting of sorting out what, ultimately, to think/feel about it all.  In that way it sticks with one, leaving you haunted for days.

Wow-did the entire point of Falling Down fly miles over Tasha Robinson's head?  I thought Robert Duvall was the protagonist of that movie, not Michael Douglas.

One of my favorite moments from the show's run—Stan draws his gun on Roger while talking on the phone, and Roger, amused, draws his finger and points it at Stan…

I was disappointed with the voiceover flashback—it really struck me as cheesy overkill.  We KNOW!  You don't have to hammer it home to us.

I'd love to see the results of someone editing seasons of Dexter down by at least half the material.  It would have been a much better show if each season was only about six episodes—they really just spend the entire middle of a season spinning wheels, killing time, until they finally pick the main story arcs back up

So the neanderthals were trapped under the ice in some part of Germany, isolated and unknown for 30,000 years, but still speak modern English?

Walt's getting schooled in the same lesson that Republicans and Libertarians refuse to heed to:  Those taxes aren't someone just taking your money to redistribute it to some undeserving fuck.  The money you made, you didn't make on your own—you worked off the foundations of a whole system that you must now help pay

They're not portholes.  It's a tacky interpretation of Jeffersonian classicism—goes with the whole preamble to the US Constitution being printed on the walls.  Take a look at Monticello sometime.  It's the domed building pictured on the back of nickels.

From the very beginning I have been deeply appreciative of how very literary Mad Men is.  Almost every episode is more like a masterful short story than an episode of a television show.  I can still be astonished by how much this show trusts its audience to be capable of accepting, understanding and appreciating

It's populated by sad, middle-aged women who apparently can't hear well, don't bother with captioning, have poor attention spans and poor comprehension in general.

It's the kind of shitty, fake-ass audition reel you get when you're dumb enough to go to some scummy scammer instead of seeking out a professional to film your demo reel.
