I'm going to reserve judgment until after next week. I agree that Stannis's army smashing the Wildling host would have made a great ending, but I want to see how they do it next week before I render my final verdict on how they handled the Battle of the Wall.

I didn't mind the Ygritte death, but 2 hours after watching the episode, I'm not really planning on catching any of the repeats. It was one big long fight, which was exciting to watch the first time, but there isn't a lot of rewatch value. There wasn't much, if any, character work done this episode. My verdict is

Is that even legal?

Sam bringing him the Game Genie annals helped a good deal as well.

To be fair, he does know at least two things:
1) Cunnilingus
2) How to use a hammer

A departure from the books I heartily endorse.

Wayne Pygram is frelling amazing.

Will there be pecans?

I really enjoy both trilogies. Although if you stuck a gun to my head and made me choose, I'd probably go with "Princess." They did some great character work in that set of episodes "Liars, Guns, and Money" is great action/adventure yarn. Very exciting and satisfying, but not quite as resonant.

Noted. I might have to rethink my build for my dwarven fighter.

In the DVD commentaries from season 1 I remember them saying D'Argo was originally conceived as "they guy who comes in, screams, and leaves." Basically early Worf. I think they were just trying to do copyright friendly Klingons at first and they thought they had a neat idea in "Untill the Blood Runs Clear." So,

Don't worry, you're good. This is the experts review and the rules are that everything to the end of Book 3 is fair game and doesn't need to be spoiler tagged.

I'm hoping they follow the books and BOOK 4/5 SPOILERS
