If there was an exeption to make, its the same ol' 'white people can't ___' thing. 10 ft. ganja plant has put out some seriously quality dub tracks, as well as John Brown's Body- true, they are more straight reggae acts but their output is strong.
I would say that yeah- if you're gonna check out the genre for the

Catch Her in the Eye?
Messy facials anyone?
…anyone?

I'll def check it out. It doesn't need dragons, just implied ones…

I've read some of his stuff, and it was purty entertaining, but maybe a little light for my tastes. Not light like easy, but light like not taking it seriously (there's a perfect word for that, but it escapes me at the moment.) Kinda like Hitchhikers Guide for the fantasy set…
Prolly my all time fave was Tad William's

Shewt- if'n it don't have dragons and magic and a protagonist I secretly see as myself, Bronco no interested.

I need some new purses.
My current ones are becoming unfashionable…

Every time I listen to Steely Dan I think of something a friend of mine said about their smooth seventies lyrics- if they sang about a party, it was the BEST party, if they sang about a drink, it was the BEST drink…
Awesome.

I think that in high school one is at their most obsessive with everything. Relationships that would be considered fucking bizarre in the adult world are the norm. Plus, high schoolers tend to build their identity around the music they like.
I'm still like that to some extent, but in high school it was crazy- also,

I have most of the simpsons recorded on vhs (how's that for nerdy dedication?)
Also, all the Futuramas- watch those ALL the time.

I find the two to be so different as to be incomparable. Though I play both (well, bass) so here's me two cents. Guitar hero is a more engaging version of Simon (remember that game?) hit the button in the right sequence at the right time- it is rewarding in the same way as seeing how many times you can bounce a tennis

Oh man…
The only thing Webb's gwan be slingin' is CRAP!
AmIright, folks?

Love Story
She's wooden and unpleasant, and whatever he does, he's still Ryan O'Neal…

Eyy- why you no speak-a with you accent no more?

This-a
make-a me feel-a uncomfortable!
My moustache, however, is thick and hearty…

Another overly used technique- esp. in 80's reggae?
The synth orchestra hit.
I love it almost every time.

I have a Wall of Voodoo album- I was surprised at how good it was.

Most of my friends hate the Eagles, too. For me, they are a great mainstreamy country band (a lot of those crossover guys were so good).
The feel of their tunes is so evocative of the seventies that's in my brains (I was 0-5 at the time). It's sweet, smooth, and kinda yearning, with a touch of burned out weariness that

I've seen my fair share of reggae shows, but yeah- time is running out. Greggory Isaacs just cancelled his show in Portland (Maine)- bummer. Toots live was amazing. I got to meet him briefly too and he was really nice- definitely a high point…
Speaking of religiously themed reggae Fidel, have you heard David Gould's

Yeah, he slips into cheese on occasion, but when he's on- it's magic.

Alpha Blondy is fucking awesome.
One of the very best vocalists…
