Dude- I saw Outlander based on the AVC's recommendation. Plus, Vikings+Aliens? I figured there was not way it could super suck (or at least super suck in an awesomely over the top kinda way).
And then it did.

Shee-oot I had that quote all cut and about to paste. Still, it was a great moment.
I totally bought it, and thought it added depth to the character in an awesome way.

The chains are there to dissipate static charge and improve radio reception- just like those ambulances that drag those chains around.

The flying V is easily the stupidest of guitar designs- sure, BC Rich has a million crappy desings to choose from (ooooh! scary shape make angry sounds!!) But the flying V has been around for ages- Gibson should be ashamed (on the way to the bank)…

I kind of agree- the subject's cool, but the execution is fair to middlin'…
'Course, it really seems like Mr. King doesn't really give a lot out at interviews, whicg is probably why Pierce said he was "well known for giving terse, frank interviews" right at the beginning of the article- seems like a nice way of saying

A ZMF interview would be on the lines of the Chris Farley/Paul Mcartney interview from SNL.
Which is not to say it would be a bad thing…

Is master and commander really any good?
I love the seafarin' stuff, but its usually a disapointment.

Yeah, but KEVIN COSTNER.

uh huh
Oooo-eee!
That looka likea some fine business right there!

Chapelle"s Show did have some genius moments, but as much as he referenced it, his show still relied heavily on the "black people do this like THIS, and white people do this like THIS" brand of tired ass humor.

Bah! Someday they'll watch- from down in the gutter they will, as King Zoidberg caresses their fancy box.

I think it's just a really shitty photoshop job.

The whole vampire thing strikes me as a semi sexual thrill for adolescent girls- the boy who's vaguely threatening, and oh man- his love is truly forever, plus the vampire kiss is scary and a little painful- a lite version of sex that's prolly a tad less scary than gettin' stabbed on the insides by Ye Olde Porksword.

Or maybe some sort of written overdub (like on the tv) with the changed word in italics.
Stupid motherfathers.
(I don't know how to do italics…)

Has anyone heard the band Tiger City? They are unlikey to be 'the next Hall and Oates' because they sound too much like them, but they are awesome.

That does sound pretty cool.

Wow
The Ultimate Watchmen cut?
Hot dog!
That cuts the mustard with me!
(I cannot imagine a better way to blow 50 bucks)

When I was in art school, my drawing professor showed the scorcese segment from New York Stories and would periodically shout "Listen to this part!" at various intervals.
It is the only movie I've seen that even comes close to portraying a painter anywhere CLOSE to realistically.
(I still love Lust for Life, tho…)

Not really a grabber…
I love Straub's books (well, maybe not the last two…), but Ghost Story is prolly at the bottom of the bucket for me. Mystery, The Throat, Floating Dragon, Shadowland- those books were SO good. Ghost Story didn't really have the same drive as some of his other stuff- none of those GODDAMN! moments

I've been playing Borderlands recently at a friend's place (I haven't played any new games since halo 3) Maybe it's because I'm ignint of the new technologies, but I thought it was pretty impressive.
Plus, you get to shoot guys…
