I think everyone just assumed it was Will's wrongful termination.

Best episode of the series, though the end was overwrought. Bring on Marcia Gay Harden permanently.

This show is just… not compelling. I have watched every episode trying to figure out why. I grew up with The West Wing, and I rewatch it from time to time, and every episode was just eminently more watchable. I still can't figure exactly what went wrong with The Newsroom aside from the usual suspects (in a word:

Does Sorkin not realize that the only people still watching his show are WW holdovers? Killing his father on the eve of an important moment was STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BARTLET ELECTION. I really hope we're not headed for Will and his shrink, since we've all been through that with Bartlet AND Josh. It seems fairly likely

This episode illustrated to me how much Sloan's absence detracts from the show. As I mentioned last week, I think this show would be much better served if they eliminated most of the major characters, starting with Will, and created a show based around her. She's actually flawed— unlike Will, who apparently does no

Absolutely. It is so bizarre seeing events that just happened. This show is not going to hold up well at all.

In my (hopeful) opinion, there is absolutely no way she will be raped, because the show just could not recover from something that dark happening to a major character. I think it's a pump fake for the death of the guy going with her— he is being presented as some kind of sacrificial figure.

I thought about this show a lot today after I watched the episode at the gym this morning.
Will is beyond repair. Mackenzie is annoying, sure, but only when associated with him.
I actually like Neil's earnestness, Maggie is OK when not with Jim, and Jim is annoying but not beyond repair. I like Don and the Law and Order
