I'm always amazed, on re-watch how few "murders" McNulty makes. In my head, he goes on an insane killing spree. Really, it's only like 2 before he realizes what a colossal fuck up he's made and the whole thing starts to collapse around him like the fall of Rome. Plus it was all worthwhile to get the scene with the FBI

3 and 4 are tight, but 3 has "Middle Ground" and 4 doesn't.

Fair enough!

The chessboard scene is kind of facile, but there's a lot to be said for the way the rest of the show re-contextualizes it.

The Sopranos' ending is a million times better than The Wire's.

Agreed. It's all great.

3 > 4 > 2 > 1 > 5

Haha that Wire trailer skips almost all of Season 2.

So the themes are more subtle in the show you watched 70 hours of than in the one you turned off after 4?

Pretty shitty of people to recommend something they think you might like.

In a way, that actually makes it cheaper.

That's fair! I just hate to see people out here slagging Jude Law; dude gave one of my favourite performances of all-time in Mr. Ripley.

Are you implying the Law is a bad actor?

Rules of the Game, Blade Runner, The Shining, and Aliens.

Casablanca is for real one of the most entertaining movies of all time. That shit isn't homework, it's a delight.

Except the polar bears and the radio signal were both in the pilot, which afaik was basically written to be as nuts as possible, and without much of an eye toward any ending at all.

This is a very strange take.

HANG THE FUCK ON — IS VEEP BACK THIS WEEK??

What is it about this guy that makes everybody feel like we want to hear about how much they hate him?
