The Lady with the White Shoes line was very pretty.

It's a little more forgivable for a network tv show with 22 episodes/season to take 7 weeks to "get good" than an HBO prestige drama with 8 hours/year.

Surely you can understand reading racial subtext into a scene where a black male robot designed specifically for sex has a large penis.

Not to delve too deep into the mysteries of "titillation" but there were no closeups, which was weird. Not even of faces in the throes.

I don't think anybody suspects the destination hasn't been well thought out, or even that it won't be somewhat satisfying. The issue is they've now spent 4 hours saying "It will all make sense, trust us!" without giving even a kernel of foundation to hang on to.
