All of Adsit's lines were gold, about his sons respecting him, being heroic hitting on younger women, etc. It was all in character and so perfectly executed.

They actually didn't do what I expected and still it made it worse somehow
Fairly early on it seemed obvious they were going to have Michael disrupt the service, act bitter and cause a scene. I turned to my wife and said 'here we go again.' But shock of all shocks, they didn't do that, it's almost like Kelly's…
The part where Liz tricks her dad into eating the pills in order to wise up was the best part.
Yeah I know it didn't happen, still holding a grudge from last time, sorry, Nathan.
Sorry, Todd!
I just got done defending you (against your wishes, evidently, heh) on the 30 Rock board but here I am disagreeing with you. I don't think this is an A episode, mostly because I didn't think the Abed storyline had a good payoff. It was just scene after scene of him spouting doublespeak with a crowd of…
Yeah it's weird. I'm not at all prudish about this stuff, but Courtney Cox having sex with a bunch of 20 year old guys came across as extremely creepy. For a long time, the men of the show carried it completely. Then they fixed the whole female dynamic and everything straightened out.
Time for new quotes
"I happen to like nice men…and cocaine."
Isn't there a death by impaling on an iron fence in this one?
I want to make sure I'm thinking of the correct Death Wish movie.
So basically this would be a non-ironic Shrek?
Different studio, I know, but it was quite a skewering of Disney, and was a kitchen sink fairytale type of deal.
About that Kissing Hitler quote
I seem to recall reading a interview with him years ago where he claimed he actually had said that 'kissing Marilyn was like fucking Marilyn' and that the interviewer changed it to the Hitler thing because his real quote wasn't printable. This was way before the 2008 biography, so I…
Comcast Evanston has it in HD and it's great, fyi.
I think you're being too hard on Andy Partridge's demos. "All I Dream Of Is A Friend" is a really beautiful song. The rest I can mostly take or leave, but they were decent enough, certainly catchy enough for their intended audience. I also have a soft spot for "Everything Will Be All Right" despite its…
Blackout?
I thought showing Don go to bed with one woman and waking up confused with another was supposed to signify a blackout, and that he didn't know how he got there, or how he picked her up. He didn't even know what day it was. Anybody else take it that way, or was it just supposed to be cool editing and…
There is a difference, to me at least, between Don being a deeply flawed and self destructive character, and Don being a total fucking mess that can barely function socially and has problems standing up. The first I find interesting, the second, I can tolerate only as long as it helps define the first.
Well, I did think it was an epiphany of sorts as he was able to make a new story about himself based on his work life, thus allowing himself to keep his personal past secret and still become the public personality his business needed. Regardless of whether he wanted to do it or not, he found a way to do it on his own…
I thought it was pretty obvious from the promos that Bert Cooper will shoot Glen next week.
by pilot I meant premiere
I agree about the episode being hilarious.
momentum from week to week
I realize the holidays are a drag for people with broken homes, but still, I'm already getting a bit tired of Don being a complete mess all the time. Yes I know that it's kind of the point, but still, we had such great momentum at the end of last week. He really seemed like he was…
They did the same thing when Nathin Rabin did that Carson Daly thing, it's so stupid, and it makes it seem like they're some kind of joke.
I lost some respect when she revealed the affair with the Congressman that took place…
…like 30 years ago. Why would she put his family through that pain and embarrassment? To sell books? Not a classy move, Barbara.
