"I'm amazed they can justify phasing out DVDs when their streaming service is still so poor."
It's gambit to force the content providers to offer their goods to NetFlix for streaming. I predict that in the next 18 months NetFlix streaming content will more than double. I'm probably erring on the conservative sided

I opted to work my shift at Denny's as opposed to going to see the Big Star reunion across town in Columbia, Mo in '93. I just wan't that big of a fan at the time. Am now, though.

My biggest miss is probably the Ramones. For all of their touring they didn't hit St. Louis very much. I'm thinking they played here on the Escapae from New York Tour in 1990. That would have been an expensive show for me at 17. Not to mention at that time I had zero interest in Deborah Harry as a solo act or Jerry

I remember seeing RD fro the first time, probably within the first couple of weeks it was available on VHS. Had no clue who Tarentino was but definitely remember, after seeing the opening diner scene, thinking "Who is this fucking dork? He would *never* be allowed to run around with a bunch of real gangsters like

I've never seen Archer but I used to watch her on the Soup (or whatever it was called back then). She's pretty funny and obviously scorching hot, like, hard to look at hot. But after the Soup I never saw her in anything where she was used to her full potential. And no, I'm not suggesting a new genre of comedy-porn.

Waiting to hear from hobocakes…

Also, people forget that Lookout released Neurosis' first LP. That was back in the 'crossover' days and they became a pretty different beast soon thereafter.

We're the Yeastie Girlz / And we got yeast power / We don't shave our armpits / And we don't shower

Filth seems almost forgotten now and they were practically legends when they were around. That split with Blatz was sort the 90s (not as good) answer to the Faith/Void split.

Yea, I bet you wish there was a delete option, eh?

So fucking great. I still watch once a year or more.

No,no,no. Damaged has Rise Above. That was my first Black Flag, first real punk rock, first anything. They never sounded this ferocious before or after (in the studio).

In 2012?

Dr. Mike, the issue is that Mould needs the other two all in (and deferential to him as he is the only one who can foot the legal bill) to go after the Husker's SST releases with a lawyer. They won't go all in so Mould said fuck it.

Yea, DC3 and Angst were miles away from hardcore.
"Dinosaur Jr., fIREHOSE, Screaming Trees, and Negativland are the only ones that immediately spring to mind"
I can't name a label today that has 4 bands of that caliber.

The Happy Mondays suck and the film does a great job of demonstrating what awful people they are as well as how bad the bad actually was. The first of of that film is the rise… starting with the pigeon slaughter begins the fall.

What SST/TnG band did Cobain NOT cite as an 'influence'?

Both are awesome. The second one introduced me to St. Vitus so… you know.

'The Felcherer'

I have no idea why the writer dismisses some bands as 'not being an SST band'. Really, St. Vitus and Sacharine Trust (and others) epitomized SST. Any way…
