James Murphy was a metal whore, wasn't he? Damned good player.

Hey, 'Easter for atheists', I like that.

Yea, but when they're in it it's all great Ramones tunes.

There are some funny typos up there.

Re: production - The Ramones, being on a major label, had decent production from the start. Some of the mixing my be suspect, though. The guitars are very obviously mixed down on the first album as opposed to 'Leave Home' or 'Rocket'. Oh, I want to ass that part of what makes 'Rocket' such a great gateway, besides the

Heller done good: Rocket is absolutely the right. Why? Because it was my first Ramones record, THAT'S why.

Yea, we know that. Did Robinov know that the movie takes place in industrial-age London and involves a murderous cult leader bent on murdering Parliament? I'll bet the music was fine.

'Guy Ritchie also recalls how Robinov asked him to "lighten the music" in Sherlock Holmes.' - What does that even mean? To what ends? Weird.

To the original poster's question, yes, it looks cheap as does the first one. These are fairly low budget affairs. Still, no excuse for some of the cheapness.

Not so conservative after all…
As conservative as Gallagher might be he clearly isn't fiscally conservative if he's having to do shows at age 64. In Minnesota. In the winter. Economy aside, that guy had to have made a mint in 80s. Two guesses where all of that went.

Her name is not important…
… but there are those who call her… Tim.

This will get lost, oh well…
Some quick thoughts:

Yea, seeing Holy Mountain was a fairly transformative experience for me and a crew of friends in the early 90s. Back then, all you had were bootleg VHSs of the thing. Now, that may sound romantic now but it actually detracted from the experience as you can have it now, on DVD.

Very curious to hear what Page says…
Very curious to hear what Page says because Tyler's story does not square at all with the story going around at the time. And mind you this was all happening during one of Tyler's 'episodes'.

Wow. I haven't heard Consolidated mentioned since… I'm thinking well before '95. I mean not even mentioned. That brings back some memories of some interesting characters in my life circa '93.

'Upcoming reboot of Flash Gordon?'
Upcoming reboot of Flash Gordon? Did we just have some train wreck on SciFi a couple of years ago?

The Virgin Connie Swail
I used to adore the Virgin Connie Swail. In fact, i still do. And I was quite fearful of Emil Muzz. I loved the 'Dragnet' movie and wished they had made more. Long live P.A.G.A.N.!

My 2 cents: This section should be expanded/turned into a book because (and I feel I can say this as I'm a little older than most of you) the 90s is going to be the last era where rock music played a defining role in 'youth culture'. Music now has to share a that limited space with many more other distractions, namely

The Beatnigs weren't hip-hop at all from what I recall. More like industrial, but not the Wax Trax kind, more like the Neubauten/Crash Worship kind. They actually had a video on 120 Minutes back then. I still have it taped!

Not as good as last year it seems.
