I'd like to see a Girls Guitar Club reunion too, and The Naked Trucker and T-Bones, I would have liked another season of that.

I think they're comedy is really pretty sharp, and it's distinct from the Conchords in that it's very standup-like observational comedy (which isn't necessarily a plus, but it's a thing) but I don't like the songs at all. Their patter is endearing, the show could be OK but the Conchords are geniuses.

In California it could be illegal, you need the consent of both parties, but her lawyer claims he knew and he didn't object on those grounds so I suppose it's true. Also she claims it was a third party who leaked it.

Sure, this is not a legal issue (other than the leaker's liability) but what little sympathy I have for Sterling comes from his privacy being violated, not that his free speech has been curtailed. Which it hasn't, people are just making the stupid mistake of equating consequences for speech with prior restraint, but

If it were a constitutional issue, wouldn't it be the 4th amendment anyway? It's not that he's being punished for his speech, it's that the evidence of his assholery was illegally collected.

If I knew this guy I might have recorded him too, I'm happy that he's been exposed, but the circumstances are more ambivalent than if he'd made the same rant on Opie & Anthony or something.

Yeah, I can see how it's unfortunate, especially from the perspective of someone with a habit of ranting like an asshole, but then once it was leaked it became in the NBA's interest to distance themselves from him. So I have no problem with Donald Sterling being mad about it being leaked, or for this asshole being

Downvoted for being tedious and unfunny.

I like how you undersold The Go-Nuts' multiple layers of gimmicks; really solid superhero costumes and a live show that consists of a continuous barrage of snack food from a "snack cannon", what a horrible, magnificent mess they made, banned from everywhere.

I'm fine with keeping Russell Brand if he acts like a vaccine against
Russell Howard. And if you have any more Russells in reserve I'd prefer
not to know.

Actually I had to reread it, I guess he did towards the end there. Sorry.

I watched part of an episode of his talk show and it was quite possibly the worst I've ever seen. He is delightful on The Trip (which is the only other place I've seen him) but that was shit.

Yeah, but you were the one who said it was worse, the only one. So direct that giant block of a lecture at yourself.

I hear you but I think those are pretty much the reasons I like this stuff better than any other pop country trend I can remember. If you're going to live in America you have to learn to embrace some of the ridiculous bullshit and this is about as ridiculous as it gets. Which probably makes me one of those fans that

"Can't get a cab"

It's not implicit, this is a quote, "Why are men, taken on average and as a whole, funnier than women?"

The one thing I'd say in favor of Hitchens' article is that it came out before it was clear that Maria Bamford had lapped everybody. The notion just seems silly today.

That quality is also why it's an infinite well of inspiration for bullshit think pieces. It's not science but it's science-flavored enough to provide a semi-feasible basis for any point you want to make. It's really perfect from that perspective.

No one else is worried that this will interfere with the recurring role they set up in Wednesday's Jennifer Falls? OK, never mind.

I'm a lifelong member of the clean-your-plate club. It might be unpleasant, even painful, but unless I'm seriously ill I'm going to eat everything in front of me. I'm not fat because I can exercise self-control when ordering (and I never go to places like this) but I absolutely cannot once the food is on the table.
