Perez Prado has many good songs, but I agree that Mambo No. 8 is his best mambo. If anything, I hope Lou Bega's song has exposed new people to Perez Prado. It would make it a little better!

If I had to guess, I would pick the Pizza Loan sketch too. It kind of reminded me of the sketches he would do with Foley, just the two of them.
Not to diss his acting abilities, but it kind of seemed like there was often a subtle tone of "I hate the character I'm playing" in his acting. It almost seemd like he wasn't as committed as the others. But maybe I'm projecting. Anyways, he's beautiful, I'm sure he'll find work.
My initial reaction was "anyone but seth meyers", but I like your way of thinking.
Jack McBrayer is an interesting suggestion. Late Night would become the happiest place on earth, he's just so upbeat!
I remember associating his name to great 30 Rock episodes, but couldn't remember which ones. "Subway Hero" and "Rosemary's Baby" are, for my money, the best 30 Rock episodes of the whole series. And if I remember correctly, Tina Fey thanked him in an Emmy speech for coming up with the "Never go with a hippie to a…
It's sad that Saturday Night at the Movies was cancelled, but it hasn't been as good as when Elwy Yost was the host. The movie selection had been lacking in recent years. I grew up watching it with my family, so when I see something about Graham Yost, I always think "that Elwy's son" rather than the other way around.
Ha! That was my reaction too. It's not a perfect show, but what Eakin describes about "fresh takes on universal truths" is a great summation of the show. When reading his reviews, I often think "Are we watching the same show? To what impossibly high standard is he comparing it to?".
I thought of Liz Lemon also… it is sadly seen as a bit of cliché now. It's hard to put into words how different and novel she seemed compared to other women characters in TV and film at the time.
I love Diamond Head! You can definitely see how a song like The Prince or Helpless could be a stepping stone towards thrash.
It's a pleasant movie that doesn't make you think too much. It's biggest weakness is that it's not funny enough. The beginning starts out strong-ish, but it quickly devolves into saccharine sentimentality territory. Patrick Huard is really likeable though, as pretty much always.
Rewatching GG, I wasn't really feeling it between Lorelai and Luke, but I wonder how much of this is that I now knew that the actors actually hated each other in real life.
Rewatching GG for the first time recently, I was much more sympathetic towards Emily compared to when it first ran. I was also sometimes annoyed with how Lorelai treated her mother. I think it's a sign that I'm getting old(er).
I remember watching that episode and finding particularly weak, but then kind of loving it for those exact moments you mention.
That was my first thought too, the eyes! Eyes like huskies.
That line, along with several made by Schmidt regarding Cece's Indian heritage, definitely fall in the category of ironic (or "hipster") racism. They must have a very white middle-class writing staff.
I find a lot of people who don't like the show already have strong opinions on Kaling that would prevent them from liking it anyways. It may be a bit disjointed at times, but it tries new things, has a lot of good laugh out loud moments (which is really the main reason to watch a sitcom) and several strong characters.
I'm not a fan of Betsy's readings either; they often feel forced. But besides them, the cast is solid. And the show is good at guest appareances too.
I like his low-key energy, so it isn't as jarring for me, but I can see what you mean by the disconnect. And I also love Mindy's delivery!
This place is really down on the Mindy Project. It may be still trying to find it's voice, but it has many laugh out loud moments and Mindy's character is different from other sitcom gals. Like Liz Lemon, she's not afraid to be imperfect, and that makes her funnier and more relatable. It's a good show with many great…
