I finished reading Wrinkle to my 9-year-old daughter this summer. The ball bouncing and the giant IT brain scenes really resonated with her, as did the idea of Charlie losing his identity. Several times, I had to assure her that things were going to work out for the characters involved.

The callback to that joke was fantastic because I'd completely misread Frank's comments. I thought the "baby mask" was a reference to his freakishly large head and that the horse mask was a Sarah Jessica Parker jab. To see him in the baby mask and the horse mask in Shelly's drawer killed me.
