OK, one more time since people continue to not get it, largely on purpose. The Bechdel Test is not an indicator of a movie's quality. It is not a judge of how feminist or woman-friendly a single movie is. It is a fantastic overall indicator of the state of filmmaking in HOW FUCKING EASY it should be to pass and HOW

She's all yours. I'll be over here working up my nerve to ask Dr. Hobbs to dinner.

Oh no, there's a Byron on BSG? I…I don't know if I can take that.

I don't know if I trust you…

The only memory of the first episode of S5 you need: "Do you want to be President?" "Uh, yes" " Good, let's eat."

What about Tim Choate? No one care about Zathras.

Nice point. I just started watching nuBSG with the reviews here, and Moore and others on the commentary tracks are gloating about how they "reinvented space opera" by being "dark" and having attempted rape and stuff like that. It comes off as a very superficial way to be the anti-Trek.

I'll allow it!

Season 5, Ep 1 with the attempt on Sheridan.

Get the hell out my Ford Galaxy!

Yeah, sorry about that.

Speaking of tearing up, watching Objects in Motion again felt like saying goodbye to Andreas Katsulus, not G'Kar.

You won't miss much if you jump to these 3 and Sleeping in Light, and I think they're all worth watching for the reasons Rowan described. Just know that Garibaldi hit the bottle again and Londo is under the partial control of a former Shadow ally, and that's really the only plot stuff that you need for these.

A few random thoughts:

It's funny, I felt like these episodes were the first time that Sheridan and Delenn felt like a real married couple. It's small stuff like the look she gives him when he fobs off the farewell speech on her. And the post-Lennier scene when you can tell he wants to lash out but stays calm and considerate out of

Spot on. These winding down and saying goodbye episodes are just fantastic. And yes, I teared up on first viewing at the scene you mention with the replacements and the bridge-to-bridge salute.

Huh? Is this a thing that actually happened or some inside joke I'm not cool enough to get? (the latter is highly probable)

Trek is definitely more of an oratorio.

Same here. I always thought both terms harkened back to classical opera. Space Opera is big, sprawling, sometimes over-the-top drama set against spectacular backdrops. Soap Opera is ridiculously-plotted love and death with soap commercials.

I don't feel like I know any of the characters well enough to ship anybody yet, so I'm gonna go with the couple sitting across from Baltar. They seem pleasant.
