I can totally see Gowron on stage with RJS bugging out his eyes and chiming in on the ends of stanzas Beastie Boys style.

Right there with you.  In some ways, "Hippocratic Oath" did more to make me realize "this ain't TNG" than Way of the Warrior did.  Big fan of that Ep.

When some Trek-loving friends bought a new house I tried to find that clip of him going "Glory to you…[bugs out eyes]…and your houuuusss" but came up empty.

Agree with all of you.  I just think it's cool that the addition of Worf let the Starfleet Captain aspect of Sisko get fleshed out.  He's dealing with one of his own, but one he's not sure about yet and needs to flex his authority before he can relex into the collegial relationship he has with, say, Dax.

One thing I really liked about the addition of Worf is that it forced Sisko to behave more like a commanding officer.  As @avclub-0c3e626d1a287cdc48c77515c8dcc243:disqus mentions above, it turns into a mentoring relationship later on, but in these early episodes Sisko can't be chummy with Worf like he is with the rest

I'm in a choir that performed the "Lord of the Rings Symphony" a while back, and now I'm picturing us all as moths and chuckling.

Seeing Rawls during this rewatch was almost as exciting as recognizing Jonathan Banks from Wiseguy the first time I saw the series.

That could work!  Vader would use the force to match and fold his socks and every episode would end with the Emperor falling down the elevator shaft that's in the middle of their apartment.
