I got slammed for suggesting this last year, apparently because "AV Club isn't Metacritic" - but you're still right.

Will there be a 'best tracks' list too? My attention span is too short to take in an album.

I do like this band, but they sound exactly like early Springsteen. Fortunately they've got the songs to justify it.

Was just going to say "where's the Glass Bead Game?"

I've got ham, but I'm not a hamster.

'Hell' is a swear? Really?

Is there? Must've missed it. I should pay more attention.

Gunfighters - Those accents, THAT SONG!, please, no.
Dominators - Bit rubbish, lots of better ones out there
Carnival - Hm, ok, bit naff but pretty good all the same
Ribos - Lots of better choices out there. How about Genesis of The Daleks?
Snakedance - Good, but we already had Kinda. How about Earthshock or Black Orchid?

I love The Monkees entirely because I watched Head.
Every other person I know who loves The Monkees has the same story.
So that last paragraph is all sorts of wrong.

You are out of your tiny mind, my friend.

Black & White = ultimate secret success

Great, AV Club - even when you can't deny liking dance music you have to patronise it. "Fun, dumb music"? How is it dumb exactly? In the "not being indie rock" sense?

I don't think any of TWG is filler unless you're just waiting for the last two episodes.

Prozac Nation was a near-perfect portrait of someone with Bipolar disorder turning into an asshole. Not particularly fun to watch, but absolutely a successfully realised movie.

True! And I think they would've been if the drummer (Amelia Fletcher's brother) hadn't killed himself when they were just making it big. The later incarnations (have you ever known a band to change a single member and adopt an entirely new identity not one but THREE times?) weren't quite so good - I think one of them

Whiny indie rock, whiny indie rock, whiny indie rock, whiny indie rock, whiny indie rock, token rap act, whiny indie rock, whiny indie rock…… yup, it's the AV Club music section!

Labour day is on May 1st, you filthy yankee capitalist roaders!

For fucks sake AV Club
A new, exciting genre comes along and youbitch about it while elsewhere droning on endlessly about whiney indie music that nobody in their right mind gives a shit about.
Love this site generally, but reading the music section is like reading a pop music magazine from the 1960s written by a bunch
