The fact that Daphne and Niles were so different gave them more obstacles to overcome in a relationship - obstacles are what makes for good drama so I think it was a fine idea for them to eventually get together.

I agree - the finale was a disappointment.
Roger & Joan? I hope not, she is way too good for him.
I'm not on board with Frasier & Diane at all. The whole joke with Sam and Diane is they had nothing in common but had great chemistry.
I am OK with Jo not ending up with Laurie but I always find it a big nauseating that she ends up with some dumpy old guy. She deserved better.
Cordelia and Anya were both as annoying as f*ck IMO. What did Joss Whedon have against Xander that he paired him up with such annoying actresses.
My biggest 'should-have-happened' relationship on TV was for Freaks and Geeks, namely I REALLY thought the show seemed designed for Lindsey and Ken (Seth Rogan) to ultimately get together.
The movies really were a big step backwards from the complexity of the TV show.
" But he was portrayed as too normal and sensible to be involved with such a dishonest, superficial basket case."
Not everyone lives or dies by a character remaining 'likable'.
Am I the only one to see it? The best of Carrie's boyfriends was the fellow author played by Ron Livingston.
I liked Dean - Ms Sherman-Palladino just had to turn him into an asshole as a trope to push Rory on to the next relationship - which is not unfair given the demands of series TV.
"I actually liked Hiddleston better in this than in the previous two plays"
I just don't think he has a lot of depth as an actor - he just leaves me cold.
I think an A- is about right. An excellent movie, Ejiofor was great - but its not perfect.
"only TR and FDR have stories that connect in the generational and thematic ways the Henriad does"
Yeah - well as I have a problem with 'god did it' - I have a problem with this film.
I think it was an admirable failure BUT a huge failure.
As a middle aged person, I remember Branagh when he first came on the scene and him coming off as kind of off-puttingly full of himself - AND he has in subsequent years made some god-awful films.
You want to see a truly bad Shakespeare play look at King John.
