Ha, well this is kind of funny, because I recently was doing some battle with some wife-abusing-sounding types on the latest Breaking Bad thread, who were giving poor Skyler quite a verbal-beating in terms I found really offensive and ominous.

Ah - if you're a close watcher of the show, you know Norton has a lot more of the tokens of prosperity (for example a TV) not because he was richer but because he was wiling to buy stuff "on credit" whereas Ralph would not.

Yeah - the whole nightclub scene is an even harder thing to get a handle on for those not around at the time than radio.

I don't know about a book - I'm just old enough to have picked up a gradual awareness of the importance of the days when radio was king over the years without having actually been around in that time  (or in the early days of TV either ; - } )

I only VAGUELY remember seeing some of those Florida Honeymooners skits (they were part of a longer variety show)  but I think they were primarily set in Florida.
