The letter is OK - with this one glaring exception:

Howard Stern is still on the air?

As ye reap so shall ye sow.

"Just how did the Western-trained doctor become the kind of leader who’d maim his own subject?"

Ugh. Personally I think MASH stayed great from season one to the end. Frank Burns was a great character, but he had run his course and think the addition of Charles was a great shot in the arm to the show.

It's called "allegory", pal - one of the oldest narrative 'tropes' in existence, for good reason.

I had no idea till I read this that that kid was related to Greg Garcia (his son?)

Have not seen Barney Miller in a long time, so am sort of speaking off the top o' my head…

You are not reviewing this show, you are using your position as 'critic' to write about yourself.

I can't decide whether that is admirable or pathetic.

That sounds very autobiographical according to the scanty info out there about Mr. Malick's life.

Yeah.

I will say this, the Serbians (or those with Serbian origins) who complain that they were forced 'against their will' to commit genocidal violence are a step above those who are PROUD of having done such horrible things (and you can be sure many of these types are still around).

I figured some fans of Serbian genocide would end up creeping into this discussion, and there you are!

Have not seen this but it seems likely the film is using torture porn in a critical way to examine the real-life atrocities committed in Serbia…

I really regret being such a wuss when it comes to these kinds of horror films, because I am interested in the issues this film seems to be addressing.

Awww, this is a beautiful, magical haunting film, it's not quite up there with the somewhat similarly themed "Ugetsu" but is really, really good and I would give it at least an A- .

Great job refuting that twit,  but Shakespeare's son was named "Hamnet" (though one often finds names in those days spelled in numerous different ways, as for the most part 'proper spelling' only mattered in Latin.).

Yes, there is a reason other than "Shakespeare's awesome and how dare anyone sully his name".

He's the only good thing about "Drive"
