I probably should have clarified what I meant by sloppy. I agree with you that delayed adolescence is a huge part of this adaptation and the way they comment on the play they're performing works well both on paper and onstage. I just think this is a sloppy adaptation.

"Love's a Gun" is a great song and it could easily become a standard. The rest of the show? Eh. I think it's definitely fun and great for colleges but I'm surprised that the version MTI licenses out is the actual finished product. It just reads thin and sloppy to me.

I agree with your indicators but I think this season stands out to me more than most because they have such an unusual group. I don't think they've had as many strong female dancers in one season in a while, if ever. Or it could be because this year is the first year I really disagree with them!

I feel like this year the SYTYCD producers are being very obvious about their strategy and who they want eliminated next. Based on last night's performances, I think they are gunning for Megz and Jim next which, IMO, is a huge bummer.

The thing about Doug's dish is that it both tasted amazing AND matched the artist's work in terms of plating. He didn't put any extraneous components on the plate just for the sake of making it look like the artist's color palate (like Melissa's shrimp). I think he won because it was such a striking comparison

Oh Howie, how could I forget you? I think that was perhaps easier to overlook because Top Chef wasn't filmed in as high quality HD then.

Agreed about Mei. She has been consistently strong all season both in her food and in her ability to lead and/or be a team player. Oh how I wish that was actually of some importance!

And the award for Sweatiest Person on Top Chef goes to George. I almost turned off my TV when I saw the drop of sweat dangling off his nose as he was plating. PLATING. Just have a designated sweat towel, man.

If you want to do your ears a favor, do a search for Laura Dreyfuss (actress who plays Madison) and Once on Broadway. She understudied the now-beloved Cristin Milioti. Some really wonderful work that's perhaps more in her style than Glee is.

Miguel was eliminated from Season 1's Restaurant Wars for being a bad sous chef, but that was kind of before Top Chef figured out what it was doing.

MORE POTENTIAL SPOILERS/SPECULATION

At least this show acknowledges that the main couple having the affair is generally unlikable. Scandal is still trying to make us believe that Olivia and Fitz is a relationship worth rooting for.

It could go either way but I'm more inclined to think he faked the call. Faking the call is a better dramatic choice because it causes more controlled chaos (Lockharts panic for nothing AND it confirms Oscar's suspicion of Noah and Alison's affair). I think Oscar is actually a very smart and conniving character even

Josie is the Jamie's scallops of Top Chef.

A question about the new Judges' Table format: are we assuming that the judges already know who they're sending home BEFORE they talk to the chefs at Judges' Table? In the past, Padma would always send everyone out so they could deliberate, but they haven't done it yet this year. This kind of worries me because it

Possibly. I think it also helped that her dish actually met the challenge of fine dining and it was a successful dessert. If you can nail a dessert when everyone else is doing savory, that can definitely make things easier for you.

I think it might be moonshine or some type of alcohol. Alison had trouble lifting the cooler from her bike and bringing it in to Caleb in episode 2, but after he 'checked out the fish,' she carried the cooler back to her bike without any problem. Now, I don't know much about drugs, but I feel like even if you pack a

I think it's important to remember that we're only seeing Noah's recollection of the events. Let's say that the grandkid WAS molested by his grandfather - if Noah didn't know about it, he wouldn't be able to impose any of those details into his memory. This might just be an Easter Egg that, if we get other characters'

I don't think what Alison is wearing means she just went to a funeral or is necessarily in mourning. Noah, Alison, the detective AND the interrogation room are all (wearing) shades of black, white, and/or gray. I think the present (so far) has been specifically designed and shot to be a stark contrast to the

Bravo has a preview on their website called "Top Chef is Heading to Fenway" and Doug is standing in the lineup. I counted 13 chefs (they started Boston's Bravest with 14) so it looks like whoever was the losing chef won their head to head battle.
