All of that, and they rely heavily on prison and slave labor. Which is especially ironic considering it's the kind of place beloved by self-conscious do-gooder liberals.

Yeah, I get that Cosby is a pretty reprehensible dude, but you simply cannot have a display about the history of African American television and not include him. They should definitely point out he's got some major problems, but you can't just act like he wasn't arguably the most prominent African American television

Holy Jesus, does no one on this website understand analogies or basic logic? The original post said that Dave can't be racist because he works with Black people. I pointed out that's dumb logic, they doubled down, so I came up with another example of people who worked with Black people who were obviously racist to

You understand how analogies work, right? It wouldn't make sense to mock a bad argument with a good argument. For instance, did you know that Jonathan Swift was not literally advocating the eating of Irish children? He was, in fact, employing an obviously bad argument to mock the bad arguments other people were

Not really. After all, the original poster's point was arguing that professional proximity to people of color means you can't be racist. That is a terrible argument which should be mocked at every possible opportunity.

My point was not whether Dave is racist or not (I don't give a shit about him so I've put no thought into it), just pointing out that is a really, really stupid argument. It's like saying "Slave owners couldn't have been racist! Look at all the Black people they had around!"

No! No no no no no no. I went to college during the height of Dave, and it still baffles me. It's like everyone was trading herpes around, and I was the weird kid for saying "Uh…no thanks, no herpes for me."

"But Dave Matthews has a Black friend! He can't be racist!"

I would have also accepted: Blank? Blank? You're not looking at the big @xanderpuss!

The best joke I've seen about this was something like "At first the jury was going to decide against Hogan, until he started shaking the ropes and wagging his finger and suddenly the whole match changed."

Now wait a minute. This could have been just purely a social call. You know, just two adults getting a stew on, man

Uh, I think you're forgetting about the bong-rattling bass of Mel Schacher and the wild, shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner.

Deadspin remains cool. I never said I myself was not a hypocrite.

Frankly, this is pretty awesome. I know plenty of ink has been spilled about Gawker's many sins, but this is the icing on their hypocritical cake. For an organization that took such a strong (and in my opinion, correct) stance against the giant leak of celebrity nudes, to then fight in court for their right to

    Gasp!
    David Crosby?!? You're my hero!

This is actually it. They got really conceptual with it — Zach Snyder represents the omnipresent nature of death, and the terrifying concept of a Fountainhead movie is used to demonstrate how deep our collective grief is.

Hey, now you're getting it! You'll be littering the comment section with tangentially-related Simpsons quotes in no time!

    That's not a Simpsons quote, that's a poorly thought-out comeback.

    Pfft! That's puffin talk!
