I saw Jeffries alone and he was terrible. It was at the Best Buy theater in New York. Great venue, but the pre-show music was AC/DC. No seriously, nothing but AC/DC. I get it-he's Australian, they're Australian, blah blah blah. But they have like 4 good songs, and I had to listen to them for over half an hour.

What does throwing away his material has to do with keeping up quality? I wouldn't want him to recycle old bits for years-new material, even if it falls flat, is preferable for me.

I thought Oh My God was Louis CK's weakest ever special. It was just not good at all.

What's Burr's comedy like? My wife's talked enough smack about him to turn me off of him (nothing specific though).

And we've been in a standup boom for a while now. The Comedians of Comedy came out almost a decade ago (I use that as my barometer since it was my then-girlfriend showing it to me that got me into the new wave of standup in the first place). That was what got me into modern standup as opposed to digging through my

And yet Pierce remains fired…

There are only a few of comedians who can actually make me laugh until I piss myself, and that's not always what I need.

Birbiglia sort of reminds me of Brian Regan. I remember being blown away by Regan because (in my opinion at least) he's hilarious. None of his humor is cutting-edge or anything, but he's really funny. It takes a tremendous amount of talent to be very funny without profanity or going dirty. I love Louis C.K., but in

DiPaolo's stuff is all right, but I don't see where he gets off taking the piss like that. Just makes him seem bitter.

The Buress album is Live *From* Chicago.

Shit, between this and The Canyons it looks like Schrader's doing his damnedest to wreck his legacy.

I was actually sad about Californication. It was nice to see Duchovny working-hadn't really seen him around when the show started. Big guilty pleasure of mine. Stupid, stupid, stupid, but fun.

While I agree with you, I didn't read Dikachu's comment as judgment of the women coming forward. Read literally it might sound like it, but it seems more like a swipe at Cosby.

This is the first I'm hearing of it-looks pretty great. He is awesome-my mother is pretty racist and even she loves Denzel Washington.

Yeah, it already hit all the right emotional beats, showing Coop training is filler that I suppose is forgivable if you're trying to pad a barely 90 minute movie, but at almost 3 hours it would've slogged.

To me that was perfect editing. Not just technically-although that was brilliant, but no wasted time in an already long movie.

Even Rocky had a montage!

There were a couple points in the movie where I yelled at the rando next to me, when we made made eye contact with the same pained expression and I yelled IS IT SUPPOSED TO BE THIS LOUD and I still don't think he heard me.

MMMMMMM That's good Jew baby heart!

It's too bad he got all weird. Kirk is a decent-looking guy, he probably could've had a decent character acting career if he tried. I remember DiCaprio also got big as a guest star on Growing Pains, but even then he was a better actor than Cameron, and he's always been chasing good projects.
