I think Some Girls is a little better, but Tattoo You definitely doesn't get enough love. It's the last essential Stones album. And No Use In Crying is my favorite Stones ballad.

I don't see why it's weird. I mean, I've seen kids movies alone. It doesn't seem like a logical place for a child predator to hang out-there are tons of parents accompanying their kids. Way too much supervision.

I've never found it weird to go to movies alone. I saw Up alone because, well, I was in grad school and had summer funding to be in a different city, where I didn't really know anyone and couldn't get the few people I know to go with me. And I wanted to see it. So, tough nuggies if parents don't like that.

The Jerk! Man, I remember watching that on TV when I was like 5. It completely rewired my brain. I have to thank Steve Martin, he's responsible for about 70% of my sense of humor, for better or worse.

Aw shucks I hope The Mindy Project gets at least another season.

The ones made so far suck. So insofar as there are no good ones and this one has the potential to be good, that's reason enough.

Why don't they just get Jared Leto to gain a bunch of weight like he did for that shitty indie movie? Pop on some glasses, a bad haircut and facial hair, boom NERD

Yeah it was a "secret" the same way Anderson Cooper being gay was a "secret." Or Lindsey Graham.

I think Bale will be great, but Rogen? Seriously?

This is his breakout? Yeah, Gyllenhaal's been toiling in obscurity for years. What was that gay cowboy flick that got him an Oscar nod almost a decade ago? Really needed a breakout hit, this guy.

This is awesome to hear. I need to read more King and son. I've had literary pretensions recently, but I just love the comfort of a good King novel. I just need to quit watching so much TV, books make much better friends.

Yeah 3 years is about right. My wife recently got into The Sopranos and The Wire for the first time (despite being from Jersey). I watched the former as it aired and burned through the latter in 2009 or 2010. It was like I had never seen them before.

I'm sure McDermott is a nice guy in real life, but he just *looks* like a douchebag.

I don't think that's controversial. If symmetry is important, then we can't consider Gosling to be attractive. I dunno, never got it.

Look, tumblr sucks and is full of sanctimonious assholes who think that aggressive condescension = political debate.

What is punk rock and what isn't? Easy. Anything that isn't political isn't punk. Green Day doesn't qualify until at least American Idiot. But that album sucked.

Yeah that was the funny thing I noticed about the place. I've lived in Miami, DC, and New York and I don't really remember seeing too many independent or regional donut shops. They existed, but in LA they seemed to be all over the fucking place. The land of wheat germ and kale smoothies and all that shit loves donuts.

Ah yes very true.

I was chalking it up to just more exposure (I like Pete Campbell but we get to see a lot of what humanizes him-like his self-defeating impulses, etc. If he just popped in for a smarmy line here and there I don't think I would like him at all. But there did seem to be a wild change.
