Who are the partners? Bert, Roger, Cutler, Ted, Don, Joan and Pete.

I agree with what you're saying, but I think that John Oliver is sharp and talented enough to do more. And not just because I believe in him, but because it will shut down any unfair criticisms that it's just The Daily Show.
Which is why Lorne Michaels should heed my advice and make The Knope Report when Parks & Rec ends.
I read Ted's written message to "Stay out of it" as good advice as opposed to a power play but I guess you're right. I may have misinterpreted that.
I'm all for more female late night hosts but Chelsea Handler would be a HUGE downgrade. It's like voting for Sarah Palin because you think we need a female president. OK, I exaggerate but analogies are by nature imperfect.
I'm very familiar with corporate and partnership law, and this didn't bother me.
Let's put a lid on the condescension for a second and look at things from the other perspective.
This site is quickly becoming VanDerWerff-ified. I wonder when or even if the AV Club is going to fully recover from losing its best writers to The Dissolve.
Management types like Cutler think that they're irreplaceable and everyone else is fungible. While it's essential to get and maintain clients and client relationships, Cutler doesn't do any of the actual substantive work that they sell!
On second thought, given how Don treated Ted last season, and the fact that Ted has always seen Don as a rival, I wonder.
You know what, I think I was completely thrown off by the fact that the plane back wasn't shown. Threw me for a loop and I assumed they were in LA
I think Pete would stick up for Don too. Because no one likes Pete, but he was never as marginalized when Don was around. And he's always looked up to Don. So I think Roger really did speak for Pete.
This is all true, but I think her outright disdain for Don was a little off. It worked for Peggy given their relationship the past few seasons.
Don came up the hard way and suffered a lot of indignities on the way. He's not too proud to suffer indignities to work his way up-he did it once.
His glasses remind me of my fourth grade teacher. Who was a woman in her late 60s.
OK?? Report to Lou? Damn.
Not that I endorse the rape scene or anything, and I think the writers and whatnot deserve to be taken to task for it *in real life*. But in the *fictional world* of Game of Thrones, I'm happy to retcon the rape scene out of my mind and pretend it never happened so I can enjoy Jaime as a character and his redemptive…
I was surprised that the episode was only 30 minutes. Quality over quantity, I know, but it feels like it's not enough for something that's only once a week. Bill Maher gets what? 55ish minutes? I'm sure John Oliver could put an extra 50 minutes/week to good use.
Three pigs in blankets
I'm not sure I would call Maher a leftist, just a liberal with some idiosyncratic views. But I agree with the gist of the distinction: it feels like Jon Stewart has gotten a *lot* more conciliatory over the years, while Maher is no stranger to (and doesn't seem to mind) being disliked and disagreed with.
