Yeah, sheesh. It took Jon Stewart some time to find his voice too (Colbert pretty much hit the ground running, at least to my memory, but I may be biased). Give Oliver a little bit of time to come into his own.

I think Oliver could really knock it out of the park with Real Time's format.
And you know, I had honestly forgotten that Real Time was still around until all this promotional stuff for John Oliver's new gig reminded me that it's not HBO's first political thing. So I may start watching Real Time again.
Just because Stewart (and Colbert, and now Oliver) get exponentially more adulation and are more culturally relevant doesn't mean that Maher doesn't love the smell of his own farts.
I also assume that John Oliver just has more time for his interviews? There was always a cut to the chase element in Daily Show interviews because of that, and occasionally they even seemed perfunctory-I think that Oliver is better at interviewing political types than Stewart.
I dunno, I think the success (and my enjoyment) of these types of shows is highly dependent on the host. As long as the host is able (which Oliver certainly is), and distinct enough (and I would argue that Oliver is subtly but noticeably drier and more acerbic than Stewart), that's enough to justify it's existence,…
Super excited to check this out. John Oliver deserves this.
LOL. I…wasn't expecting that facial expression
Patrick Stewart still looks pretty good.
Who would they cast as Spider Jerusalem?
I agree, depending on how you mean it. The fact that it was lazily shoehorned into the last episode is what irks me, not the fact that Barney and Robin are splitsville.
I was disappointed too, but at the same time it's just a fucking sitcom.
Embarrassing that he's not in prison, but what're you gonna do
On the contrary, I thought it was done very well
Tasha Robinson??? I thought she went to The Dissolve??
The restaurant used in Seinfeld (different name though) is terrible. I was disappoint.
It's easy as shit, you just don't show up to filming. The problem is, you might be on the hook for millions of dollars…
Most of the processed vegan crap is gross. I could do plants and veggies and shit but tofu is the only processed vegan shit I can stand.
You're poopy poker
Ah shit. I was just going off the top of my head. I've had a loooot of long bus rides recently (i.e. between cities, not around town) so I've been listening to a lot of Ween.
