It wasn't. I guess I just don't find it unrealistic or particularly out of character. Especially in the context of telling other people what my "favorite" is. Favorites are fluid, exaggerated, etc. That his character likes the movie is what I take away and relate to.

Fuck it, I'll take Pete. He's grown on me.

I saw it in theaters with my father when I was 12 (don't ask, Patch Adams must've been sold out or something) and I remember liking it a lot. I really liked movies about urban professionals trying to make relationships work as a kid. It made me feel like an adult, and made me excited to grow up. I was a weird kid I

Wow, you just described what I don't like about House of Cards-sterile, thematically unsatisfying (in the sense that it's not about anything).

I thought I was an Aaron Sorkin fan after watching A Few Good Men and The West Wing, but apparently those are aberrations. I cannot stand Newsroom or that goddamned Facebook movie. My god.

I don't find liking You've Got Mail the least bit unrealistic. I've always been a detached, unemotive, Ron Swanson-esque person, but even I have secret saccharine guilty pleasures. I did kind of enjoy that movie…by no means great, I haven't seen it since it was in theaters, but far from the worst movie I saw that

You know I actually agree with you. They are only similar at the highest level of abstraction-a superficial, highly stylized look at Washington.

Yeah-no more Kate Mara's ass? That's when I stopped watching. And I even reluctantly stayed after Spacey went full on moustache-twirling by killing Russo.

This show is basically a pretentious version of Scandal. One of them is fun, one them takes itself way too seriously.

"However, the series still struggles with the foremost issue that bedeviled season one: It’s not about a goddamn thing"

Not necessarily. His logic is sound and reflects a good understanding of the characters is what I mean by good point.

Shit, what kid's movie isn't product placement?

Uh ok, what rules were violated here?

Knox Harrington. The video artist.

Silicon Valley. Now that's a creative title.

Good night sweet prince.
