I also refused to watch it again until last night, and maybe I've gotten dumber or something, but I think both I and so many other people have overstated how depressing the movie is that I was really struck by how not that depressed I was by the end.

I will check out those Before movies-another PSH movie, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, sold me on Ethan Hawke.

This show is just fun. It knows its strength-great dialogue and character interactions, and the procedural aspects just solid. Well-made, but it's not a thinker. Perfect unwinding show.

You know, it is kind of like Breaking Bad. Going back, the first season of BB wasn't nearly as dark as the rest. It was almost a straight up black comedy before it became just straight up black (although the show has always had good humor). The early Jesse-Walt relationship was sidesplittingly hilarious.

How about Drew Bledsoe? The Patriots get to and win the Super Bowl just as Tom Brady comes out from under his shadow and eclipses him. That's gotta sting.
