Get your mind out of the gutter.
Get your mind out of the gutter.
He knows them well enough by now to realize they're not into his religious spiel. Think about it: He clearly has had some very heavy conversations with Paige about her parents, and if, as I believe, he's genuinely concerned about her welfare, it makes sense that he would propose they go on the trip as a way to…
It's far less absurd than you think. They're going there to build a school, not spend all day in a revival tent.
If you read these threads regularly, you know that the guy has stated his dislike for the lead characters on many occasions, which, frankly, is not an unreasonable viewpoint given many of the things they've done. He doesn't seem "upset" about the show; he's just stating an opinion that differs from most of the other…
It was a nice touch when, during his attempt to convince Philip to go to Kenya, he said something like "we'll go easy on the 'God stuff' during the trip." It showed a level of self-awareness, as well an awareness of the fact that Paige is the only Jennings who has any interest in religion.
There was a brief pause after Philip said to Paige "if you tell anyone…" where I honestly thought he was going to say "…we'll have to kill you." Which seems ridiculous, but at the same time, who really knows?
I always thought there would someday be a significant moment on this show when Elizabeth and Philip would speak Russian to each other. Like maybe they get caught someday and then say some heartfelt words to each other in their native tongue when there's no longer a reason to maintain the pretense. Even though last…
Did they serve you 7 to 12 sausages per meal?
Yeah, but after nearly three full seasons of suspense, I feel they earned the right to go huge at that moment.
No kidding? I didn't catch that, and I now know what I'm doing the minute I get home from work.
I damn near lost it when he gave that nod.

Perhaps sometimes, but I don't think the intent is always to maximize the government's ability to prosecute. Like I said, the court system sometimes bears the responsibility of sorting out the details. Once there's some case law on the books, the precedent from those rulings becomes just as important as the wording…
You're not wrong.
"The government can write a statute defining 'koala bear' to mean a hula-hoop if they want to, but what does that have to do with the rational use of linguistic terms?"
I was editing when you posted this. Additional paragraph added.
There's no need to guess as to how the law defines a WMD. Here's the text from the Definitions section of the statute:
Between that and all the military/law enforcement activity they generate, these guys are definitely job creators. Captains of industry, even.
Please God, let him play this role like his character from The Other Guys.
They can be two things.
