Jimmy — McDonough did a good job conveying Quarles' oxycontin withdrawal. I would NOT have wanted to be near Quarles during his withdrawal thoes.

I guess Limehouse effectively severed ties with Quarles, then.

It was a very even-handed way to cut to the chase.

I agree that there's a serious double standard when it comes to male and female bodies in TV and film, and it's not just with fanservice either. "Justified" has many realistic-looking men, but many of the female characters are skinny and Hollywood-beautiful. Earlier seasons had some realistic-looking women, such as

I nominate Dickie for "Best Supporting Ungoldly Hair-Mess" Emmy.

Well, I'm not complaining.  :)

Having Quarles as a father would be worse than either!

I'm still trying to figure out why Boyd wanted Quarles naked to boot. That whole situation was just odd.

Can you fit a gospel number in there? "Gimme a Goddamn Amen."

:: gasps ::

Maybe the Wizard of Oz reference harkened back to McDonough's role on "Tin Man"?

I want a Quarles action figure with a spring-loaded sleeve gun and a gigantic bottle of Oxycontin.

Maybe it's the Kentucky humidity.

Or his "For once in your life, do what's asked of you" line. Duffy's got his Wynn back!

- I'm enjoying all the Neal McDonough fanservice this season. "Coalition" treated us to a nice shirtless scene. So McDonough has a little bit of a tummy — I can forgive that because he just looks so damn cuddly!

That left me scratching my head too. Why didn't he break the commode when he was at Quarles' mercy? When the mobster came in, Donovan was likely sleep deprived, hungry, and dehydrated, so he should have been weaker, not stronger.

Boyd's orders to do that to Quarles struck me as VERY strange. It's not even karmic, since Boyd doesn't know about Quarles' history of depravity. WTF, writers?

Another thing I've been wondering about is what Boyd and his ladies have in mind for Quarles once Quarles is chained up. Boyd instructed the two prostitutes to "dissuade" Quarles from escaping, so I'm thinking they'll either rough him up, or give him a VERY nice time. Which is just … ew. God no.

I've been scratching my head over Neal McDonough all season. I read that he refused to do love scenes for the series "Scoundrels" because of his family and religious beliefs, but he's okay with nudity, bondage, and slicing guys up with katanas in "Justified"? I'm confused.

Well, the latter would be in keeping with long-term Oxy abuse.
