Goodfellas and Casino have similar (and great) sequences explaining the ins and outs of the money business.

Thanks for ruining the ending of the book, Vadim.

I'd love to see major networks adopting shorter seasons in the mould of HBO, AMC FX, etc. etc. I'm also watching The Following (for entirely different reasons than Hannibal) and I was cringing at the thought it was going to last 21-22 episodes (I cringe through every episode but that's the fun of it). What a surprise

Funny, I've got all those things, too, but haven't been able to apply them as well as you. Your essays are a weekly highlight - I might have been a bit harsh on Brandon. His coverage is superb, too. But you often don't see what is essentially a second critical review in the comments section of most AV Club articles.

It's impressive how you're able to recall minute events from what seems to be any and every episode of this series. Seriously, how many times have you watched this show? How many notes have you taken? How many essays have you written? And why post these here? Surely you can find a better platform to showcase your

Love this scenario!

There will be a major plot twist like what happened in Fincher's The Game. Ryan will eventually confront Joe on a rooftop and face a dilemma: Joe kills Natalie Zea or Ryan can simply die. Ryan chooses to fall off of a tall building but he is caught by a safety net below. Disoriented, Ryan recognizes the faces of

Are you not watching the interstitial advertisement for the show? It airs about 2/3 into the show every episode and Kevin Bacon's voice over reminds us how he loved the script and couldn't put it down. Unfortunately, that voice over is taken from the bonus features for The Woodsman.

The picture of Murder Lady #1 (Valorie Curry) at the top of this page looks… suspicious. Almost like she just murdered a cock… the semen on her lip, it has a sort of romance to it. Classic Poe.

A triple F would be too good for this show. I promise to keep watching The Following as long as it remains god-awful… it would be intolerable if it was simply mediocre.

Total tangent here but "Wonderection" is a brilliant user name. Kudos on your wonderful, singular erection of a user name.

I can't tell with all of the cock digitally removed.

I think you're giving Reggie way too much credit regarding the diversity of his sweater collection.

God Bless Roger Ebert.

@avclub-350a7a9d2b4db689dfc1671b806e8cff:disqus Is someone jealous?

Prepare to cry some more when Scorsese passes on. I'm looking forward to hearing/reading his words about Ebert.

It's an unwritten rule that his fans should watch the films featured in his 4-star reviews and his 1- or zero-star reviews. I'm sure someone here remembers the 1-star review where he basically said it could have easily been a 4-star.

Ebert introduced me to Werner Herzog and countless other geniuses who escape the mainstream but are essential to cinema. His Great Movie reviews are basically the curriculum to the best film crit class ever. He also brought Jim Emerson to my radar, who is a bi-polar, Nolan-venting wunderkind.

He responded to me thrice back when his Answer Man feature was hot shit. One was about Snow Falling on Cedars, another about The Talented Mister Ripley and another about movie violence and a then-new study on sliding criteria for movie ratings. I'll be honest, it always felt rewarding to get his attention.
