David Holmes was a much preferable host to Chris Hardwick or whoever that woman was they had for the season premiere episode after-show.

Watching Modern Family right after this really highlighted for me how great of actors the kids are on The Middle and how terrible some of them (mainly the two boys Luke and Manny) are on Modern Family.

Nice use of a backlot set as a military training course. I wonder how many times that set has stood in for New York City in other movies and TV shows.

At my school you had to bring a date, which became controversial after an out-of-the-closet gay senior (rare at my school back then) wanted to go without a date but wasn't allowed to.

Was the ending spoiled for anyone else by ABC's rom-com-ish promos for the show?

Agreed on Beau Wirick. Rarely is he more than just a side-kick for Axl. It was nice to give him something else to do, and he ran with it.

When they run out of challenge ideas, they just jumble together odd parts of challenges from previous seasons.

Remember how pissed off Probst got when Osten quit? Either he has mellowed out a bit since then, or he only gets mad when macho men quit the game…
