Here's an idea: maybe the laser hilt doesn't cut?

Is this been said enough? Nope, it isn't.

What do you think of Hank Pym/Ant-Man?

Well…yes, but not one single thing in that movie (which I liked) said "this guy should do Jurassic Park!".

I just dislike every iteration of that tale. I think it's a cruel, moralistic and unlikeable story. And the Disney movie traumatized me in a weirdly personal way when I was little so it's got a special place in hell for me.

So we still haven't found out why the director of Safety Not Guaranteed was asked to direct this, right?

Except for freakin' Pinocchio.

"You never understood why we did this, do you?…it was-it was the look on their faces."
Yes, this is definitely a movie about filmmaking.

I missed the cultural conversation on GBH too and I would like to hear more about it. Personally, I thought it was amazing but it didn't affect me emotionally like it affected others.

I watched it yesterday for the first time and I was spoiled beforehand. While watching I kept comparing the movie I was seeing with the one I would have seen without that knowledge and man, the twist hides most of the compelling stuff in the film (e.g.: the relationship between Spoilers and Rebecca Hall).

The "trick" is to make everything else in the movie more interesting than the twist.

Yep, that's the other one I was thinking. It doesn't work for every movie though (*COUGH*the usual suspects*COUGH*).
EDIT: oh, Citizen Kane is another one.

The Prestige works better when you're spoiled.

I subscribe this; it's tremendously underrated between sci-fi/Linklater fans.

Reading Ubik my dream project was:

Happy birthday, Tereglith!

Happy Birthday Doc!!! *BUG HUG*

Dan Harmon and Erin McGathy got married!

Today is also 74 years since Fantasia came out!

I'm listening to the soundtrack right now. I really hope these guys get to make another show. They had a very specific vision and they looked for it in every aspect of the show.
