Every time I think the student-run newspaper on campus might not be a total waste of trees, staffed by a semi-literate bunch of yokels, they prove me wrong in my confidence by publishing something like their Oscar predictions.  Apparently, Best Actress is a two person race, between Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway.

Hey-o!  Tip your waitresses, kids.

You probably remember his classic grocery store pickup line: "If you're lookin' for shite, it's in aisle me."

Heyyyyyyyyyyy…repressed lady!

@HectorTheWellEndowed:disqus  Aww…that's one of the nicest things anyone's ever posted at me that I'm choosing to remember right now.  I've got my 50th anniversary calendar marked with all the upcoming DW stuff, don't worry.  (Kidding—I wouldn't write on that calendar.)  Besides, I just ordered DW Yahtzee yesterday—I

My first thought when I saw the headline was "blatant pageviews grab", and that just kind of intensified reading the article.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.  Just…new feature, Community notifications, pretty much just telling us something we already know (and will be reminded of again and again, I'm

The instructor is fine (it was me).  See the response to @HectorTheWellEndowed:disqus for the deets.  (And yes, your response was at the top of my page (Newest First 4eva!), but I'm whimsical.)

The instructor is me, and yeah, I'm fine.  I just went sideways on a relatively busy road.  (The car's OK, too—I was able to turn into the skid and come to a stop.)  I had to call the police to come and stop traffic so I could back out and go on my way, but no problems anywhere.

To all the undergrads out there: if you make an appointment to meet with an instructor at a certain time, and then can't make it, please inform them as soon as possible.  Let them know the details—like, if you're working and can't make it at another time, whatever.  Sometimes, stuff happens—naturally.  Sometimes,

I think there was a lot of hubbub at the time—I stand by that one, and I'm planning on posting a Why I Voted (or something) post explaining why after the last batch of voting pattern analyses.

(Also, "hate" is a strong word…as has been mentioned over and over in the listing process, a low-ranked Community episode

Zut alors! You have meesed one!

Those aren't insoles…

My top five:

…and you're ugly, too!

I had pretty much the same reaction—I thought it was fine, nothing hilarious, but I dunno…there were at least two or three times per episode that just made me belly laugh, and it was enjoyable enough that I stuck with it, and doggone if the finale wasn't one of the most moving television episodes I've ever seen.  It's

And, vitally—how will this affect the Power Rankings?!?!?!?!?

The Aztecs is probably a decent starting point—it's a reasonably good historical story with not a lot of padding.  As for the rest of the serials they're airing…they haven't been announced, as far as I know, but odds are good they're going to hit the highlights.  (Which is good, because, like

Looks like the First Doctor is coming back to TV—BBC America is having a Year of the Doctors, and are going to be airing one classic serial per month, starting Sunday.  (Here's the link to the story, via io9.)  Looks like I'll be upgrading my cable package this afternoon.

The following what premieres to 3.1?

Can people whose rooting interest is "dear God, not the Ravens" join in?
